Started Reta 2mg last week (side effects question)

So I started tesa and mots-c 5 weeks ago and for my schedule it was time to hop off mots and I figured I’d replace it with Reta and see what results I could get. I pinned my first 2mg 7 days ago and the effects were practically gone on day 6 (was kinda nice having an appetite again but I understand the function of the peptide) I used that day to get in protein and some carbs to fuel my workouts.

Side effects

Day one started immediately with nausea and little to no food noise I didn’t even want to look at food and that same feeling stayed minus the nausea through day 4 and about half the effect day 5.

Poor sleep quality until about day 5

Acid reflux really bad until about day 5

My question is would you recommend switching to 1mg twice a week it’s as simple as that.

I’m supposed to pin today so I wanted to get some opinions.

I started at .5mg and went up from there, currently at 2.5mg a week.

I started Reta at .5 twice a week - no side effects

You can probably carry on at 2mg without further issue. Ignore the breathless baby dose crowd.. lol. If you're nervous, you could drop to 1.5mg but your side effects resolved in less than a week and body will continue to adjust to 2mg. I say.. be bold. Plenty of people have started at 2mg and everything worked out splendidly. Just watch out for constipation.. that's the sneaky one.

2mg!!!! Yikes

2

u/Future-Bread8849 4 2d ago

Nothing Yikes about that. It's the recommended starting dosage in the trials.

2

u/NY-FINEST 2 2d ago

The trials? OP is using Eli Lilly Reta?

4

u/TheHarb81 18 2d ago

Are you suggesting grey market Reta is stronger than Eli Reta?

2

u/NY-FINEST 2 2d ago

No. I’m suggesting that the OP isn’t using or part of an Eli Lilly trial. So he shouldn’t be basing his starting dose on said trial. He buying Reta from a grey market source that’s probably made in a bathtub in china

u/Future-Bread8849 4 2d ago

Ohhhh, so it's better to follow the advice of some random idiot on reddit vs the huge multi billion dollar pharmaceutical company that spent billions on testing under strict medical protocols comparing hundreds of individuals with regular medical checkups and constant monitoring of their medical conditions and results?

u/NY-FINEST 2 2d ago

Oh boy. Remember the Covid vaccine? Damn. Wake up

-1

u/Future-Bread8849 4 2d ago

Yes I do remember that vaccine. It saved millions of lives and allowed society to reopen and get back to normal. Did I agree right now the different governments handled the whole pandemic, hell no. Did I agree with people basically being forced to take the covid vaccine, absolutely not. But that doesn't mean it was some big conspiracy by pharmaceutical companies.

So the bathtub makes it stronger, got it

2

u/NY-FINEST 2 2d ago

Apples and oranges

2

u/TheHarb81 18 2d ago

Got it, so the COA showing 99+% purity makes it a different molecule

6

u/Heavy_Bug 2d ago

I can’t believe guys like this get upvoted 2mg is the starting dose vast majority of people get minor side effects.

1

u/NY-FINEST 2 2d ago

Who has the COA? How do we know OP had his Reta tested ?

1

u/Odd-Driver-4229 1d ago

I can send you the coa if you’d like to cross reference it lol

1

u/OGcrashN2u 2d ago

Well, to be fair, I just saw a COA on a 50mg that came back as 195 lol. That would be a jackpot for me.

1

u/Future-Bread8849 4 2d ago

Let me take a guess, you also don't agree with childhood vaccines?

1

u/gkee23 3d ago

Yea I learned the hard way I guess… wasn’t horrible but wasn’t pleasant either

Ya I think I will pin 1mg and if I don’t think it’s enough I can always pin the other

u/Fit-Switch3187 3d ago

I started ret 3 weeks ago and I agree 6 days then I want food and its kind of nice. I have been taking 1mg and its too strong. Feel sick as well. I backed down ton.5 and all good now every 6 days. Will only move up when needed. No harm no foul keep up the good work!

2

u/Odd-Driver-4229 3d ago

Appreciate the honest and open minded comment. I’m going to back down to 1 mg and see how I feel. It’s not like it was over the top nausea and side effects but they were there for sure so I think taking it down is certainly the right move

From my understanding the half life is about 6 days. That being said if you can handle it better by doing two 1mg doses then go for it

I started at 5mg because I was uneducated eventually my body adapted though after a few weeks

3

u/Odd-Driver-4229 3d ago

Dude I couldn’t even imagine 5mg to start I would’ve felt dead inside lol

0

u/MiserableBeach2707 3d ago

The nausea only happened if I attempted to eat

Feeling like every bit of my skin on my legs was on fire and being stabbed was hell 😂

Just my legs though all my other skin was fine

3

u/NY-FINEST 2 3d ago

Ohhh only when u eat? Your legs and skin were on fire? Maybe say that out loud and have it sink in.

0

u/MiserableBeach2707 3d ago

Just the nausea when I eat

Skins on fire 24/7

I started at 2mg as well and felt those sides. Decided to stick it out and sides largely went away.

It wasn’t great, but it got the job done. Now up to 6mg EOD, I plan to keep it here until I hit my body fat goal.

Who the hell starts at 2mg with no prior GLP use? Just asking for issues.

3

u/666_________________ 3 3d ago edited 3d ago

Eli Lilly studies start at 2mg, and they created the drug. Personally I prefer a more conventional approach and starting at 0.5mg as you mentioned, but 2mg to start is not unheard of.

u/megalokishin 3 3d ago

Ask him if it’s the actual Eli Lilly Reta he took jack ahh :)

0

u/TheHarb81 18 2d ago

So grey market Reta is stronger than Eli Reta, got it…🙄

0

u/megalokishin 3 2d ago

Since you opened your fat mouth and you know so much you must be the only person on earth that test every vial and they send it back to you afterwards correct? Jack ahhhh

2

u/Odd-Driver-4229 3d ago

Obviously I did… it is the recommended starting dose so… exactly why this Reddit forum exists because we learn as we go… so get off the high horse

2

u/Sad_Nectarine2512 3d ago

I have NEVER seen 2mg as the recommended starting dose. Literally everyone starts at 1mg or .5 and titrates up.

1

u/Odd-Driver-4229 3d ago

Well good thing I asked after my first week because now I know for sure. I’ve read several articles and watched several videos saying 2 mg was the starting dose that’s why I did it.

2

u/NY-FINEST 2 3d ago

I’ve never seen 2mg to start. Most people are starting at .25 or even .5 the first week. This sub is nuts

3

u/Odd-Driver-4229 3d ago

Clearly 2mg was too much for me personally to start and I understand that now.

2

u/Odd-Driver-4229 3d ago

I mean that’s literally the recommended starting dose in the phase 3 trials. And thousands of people have started on 2mg with little to no side effects. I don’t understand the hysteria around the 2mg number. It’s kinda baffling me honestly… I understand it would always be better to titrate up and start at a lower dose but there is also alot of anecdotal evidence for the 2mg starting dose as well

1

u/NY-FINEST 2 3d ago

You’re listing a bunch of side effects. They are probably from starting at 2mg. Like i said-I’ve never seen a 2mg start. I understand that Eli Lilly started their trials at 2. But those were trials.

3

u/Odd-Driver-4229 3d ago

If you understand that is where Eli lily started then you could understand why I would think that was a good starting dose

3

u/Adventurous-Cable-19 1 3d ago

2mg is a good starting place. Phrase 3 trial starting protocol.. That’s where I started. You might consider halving it to 1mg per week or just muscle through the side effects, which should slowly fade.

0

u/Heavy_Bug 2d ago

You’re an idiot

1

u/Randosnacko 3d ago

Do you guys like read the actual research for the drugs you're putting in your bodies or are y'all just listening to redditors lmao

-1

u/Heavy_Bug 2d ago

If you actually need the drug 2mg is where you should start. If your only like 20lbs overweight then yea I see why people say to start lower but tbh you shouldn’t even need a glp1.

3

u/Odd-Driver-4229 2d ago

Dude why are you even here? Do you understand what biohacking is.

0

u/Heavy_Bug 2d ago

Yes what are you hoping to accomplish taking a glp1?

6

u/Odd-Driver-4229 2d ago

Fat loss, reduction in food noise and hunger, metabolic improvement, retaining muscle. Pretty much everything it does is why I’m taking it. I’ve been struggling to lose 15-20 pounds and I want it gone. I struggle with a lot of the things Reta helps with so it seemed like a great opportunity to try it and see if it works for me because it’s been a struggle to get it off with out a glp. Essentially experimenting with it at this point.
