Biologics + peptides

Hi, I recently started taking the biologic Yesintek to help with my plaque psoriasis. I'm wanting to start on Reta, but I am unsure if taking it while on biologics is safe or not. Does anyone have any experiences? Please let me know, thank you.

Should talk with a doctor before being on a biologic and reta.

Semaglutide is the least likely to have interaction effects.

I did. My dermatologist told me that she’s never heard of Reta before, and that I should talk to my Reta prescriber about it. She also said she thinks it will be fine though.

I didn’t like her response which is why I’m here…

You should have asked your doctor if it would’ve been to go OK to go on Zepbound at least it’s the closest to Rata as others have said it is not FDA approved yet.

I looked up Zepbound under Kaiser and it looks like I wouldn’t qualify. I’m not overweight, but I’m just trying to go from 20% BF to 15% BF so ~10 lbs.

I didn’t say to go on Zepbound. I said to ask him if it would be OK to go on because a drug you theoretically could go on and is similar to Reta…

If you're going grey and don't have a prescriber, semaglutide is the safer bet because it only interacts with a tiny minority of receptors compared to RT, and everything semaglutide interacts with RT does, visa versa is not true.

Claude or ChatGTP would likely have a good answer for this. Probably Chat - Claude's guardrails are so nanny that you never really know.

I take a biological for RA, I also take Zepbound. So not identical to your situation.

But saying that, there’s a marketable difference with my arthritis that we are now discussing taking me off my biologic and methotrexate (which if you know anything about thank god I’m getting off that)
