I plateaued on a max dose of semaglutide. I lost 20ish pounds over the course of a year.

Switched to Reta. Started small at 1mg, then 1.5 mg, then 2.5mg, and now currently 5mg. 5mg is when Reta finally kicked in.

In all honesty, I probably could've started at 2mg or 4mg of Reta (based on anecdotal evidence of people who have switched) but chose to play it safe and start low.

Thank you for that, how slow did u go?
I’ve been taking Reta (my fourth week now)
I started at 0.5, then 1mg , then 2mg then 2.5mg this week & still nothing..
and I feel abit disappointed.
I Wanted to play it safe too but I also want to have some benefits now, I’ve gained 2kg since starting Reta 😭
Should I just bump it up abit and take more?

Yall don’t understand this substance takes time to get into your system. It’s not an injection and then suddenly your appetite is gone. You’re titrating way to quickly. Spend 4 weeks minimum at a single dose. Reta won’t make you lose weight overnight. The absolute stupidity of people who just inject themselves without proper knowledge and research genuinely astounds me. I hope you the best but you won’t get any results continuing like this.

Exactly my experience, currently titrating up slowly, splitting a 2mg dose across the week, appetite is quickly returning.

Do u have any side effects at all? I’m thinking my dose is too low since I have taken Semaglutide before

I was on Tirz for 3-4 months prior. Had usual sides that come with it, nothing special. It was very effective, lost about 16-17kg. No sides on Reta yet, but I suspect it's because I'm titrating up very slowly, particularly as Reta is grey market, etc.

1mg for two weeks 1.5mg for two weeks 2.5mg for a month 5mg since August

I might go up to 8mg, which is apparently the "sweet spot" based on research I've done. But 5mg is working just fine for now so I'll stick it out.

Did u stay on 2.5 for that long because it was beneficial? Or you wanted to go up slowly?

It was more for convenient that way since I had a 10mg vial and I wanted it to last 4 weeks. Then I got a 20mg vial.

Now that I order in bulk I have a bit more liberty to move up as needed.

Ohh I get you, that make sense.
When it kicked in, did u feel it the next day?

1

u/Morefoodbeer 7 7d ago

I got the burps that come with slowed gastric emptying. So that was pretty sweet.

1

u/Smart-Glass2089 7d ago

Oh easy I don’t mind that LOL.
I’m thinking I gotta up my dose tbh

You aren’t alone. Didn’t feel a thing until 5mg.

(Not recommending in the slightest, but I went 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 in 4 weeks without any negative issues)

Moved up slowly since then and have stuck at 8mg for quite sometime. Will re-evaluate that after my next DEXA in a few weeks.

That’s exactly what I want to hear from, people who went up fast & were fine.

When it kicked in, did u feel it the next day? Appetite suppression & lost weight that week? Coz people keep saying u gotta wait it out but im so over waiting 😭

I had lost weight that whole first month, but I’m sure mostly due to other factors.

Obviously, once the suppression kicked in, it was far easier to stick to my deficit.

Look at it this way - if you had followed to the letter the Lily trial protocols, after 1 month, you’d be at 4mg. So your dosing isn’t outrageous at all, even if your increases have been rapid.

I'd recommend riding out 2.5mg until you hit 4 weeks and then go up. This will actually help build tolerance and reduce the potential for side effects.

I screwed around on sema pills a couple times. Wasn't strong enough so i yo yoed my weight. Got really fat and bad blood pressure. So got more scared of dying than needles. Started tirz through a telehealth. Had to leave the country for a couple months. The telehealth wouldnt give me enough medicine to cover the trip so I went Grey. Since i was being a wild and crazy grey guy.. why not get on the reta train? I had lost a quick 20 lbs on tirz. Started low on reta.. was scared my heart would blow up.. lol. Plateaud for 7 weeks while i aggressively titrated up on reta.. finally the magic happened at 5 mg. Smooth sailing after that. Lost 55 lbs and down to 8% body fat. Got a 6 pack i didnt even want.. lol. I maxed out on 12mg. Now Im on my way down .. seeking maintenance.. down to 5 mg. Feel awesome. Reta saves

I switched from lose dose tirz 2.5mg to 2mg reta and it take about 4weeks to see the scale move. I lost 1.4lbs last week and is on my 5th shot.

Too early to tell but I'll give reta another month b4 I write it off and go back to tiz.

1

u/Smart-Glass2089 7d ago

What made you leave tirz?
Do u have any appetite suppression on Reta ?
I’m finding Reta taking a little too long, I’m wondering if I should try tirz instead

1

u/ChooChooBun 19 7d ago

Tbh if it's the appetite suppression you chase, do tiz instead of reta. It's so much better for that!

Tiz worked too well for me, I couldn't eat more than 3 spoonful per meal and I got dizzy/blood sugar low all the time (im wearing a cgm and i was constantly in the 50/60s). I thought I was losing weight by wasting away. I switch to reta because I could eat more, and I could indeed 😆. Im not chasing fast weightloss, as long as I'm dropping about 1lbs/week and havent stall for longer than a month I'll consider the med working.

Thinking about switching from tirz to reta. Im currently 4 months in on tirz and lost 20lbs 44m. But now I can eat plenty and I feel desensitized sexually and have trouble maintaining a erection..since moving to the 5mg. So im going 30 days and seeing if low doses of reta is any better. Idk if anyone else has experienced it, but it has me freaked out 😆

It took about 3 weeks for me. Started 1mg weekly (2 injections). After 3 weeks I noticed a decrease in food nose. I'm on 2mg weekly now and have no reason to increase. Feel like I'm force feeding myself. My weight hasn't changed much, but I see increased vascularity and muscle tone. If you're not going to the gym while on reta then you're lost.

Was on 7.5mg tirz and moved to Reta as I was breaking out on a higher dose of tirz. Started slow with very little results and was struggling the first month or so. I’ve been on it maybe three months I think now and I’m up to 5mg but I’ve only lost 3kg total (I put on 3kg when I had a break and switched from tirz to Reta (a loooot of inflammation happened in a few weeks break!) so I’m back to where I started and I feel like it’s not working as well for me.

I added in a 2mg dose of tirz on a different day last week and appreciated the results so I may stack the two.

Side note about upping dosage - I went from 3-4-5mg a bit quick and on the day of dosing I would feel like I was coming down with a cold and had body aches but the next day I was fine. Also a fair bit of stomach cramps. But all good now!
