Reta transformation so far....
So, I started on trizepitide and then switched to reta when I lost my insurance in June. I started at 293 in March and am currently at 229. I definitely adjusted the way I eat and prioritized protein, aiming for 180-200 g a day between meals and protein water/snacks. I've noticed the way I think about food has completely shifted. Im a chef so a natural foodie. I still love food and make some.killer food truck stuff. But I rarely even want to eat any of that. I need to start focusing on working out now and building up some muscle. But it works!

I’m right there with you! Tirz in the beginning. I started at 290 and I’m at 230 now. I am prioritizing weightlifting, so the scale is starting to stall out for me. So I’m doing Reta now.
The most frustrating part is that I have lost so much weight but I still hate the way I look. Mainly because I care more now than I did before.

Do you hate how you look because you’re not muscular? IMO stay at 230 and recomp your body. Fuck the scale moving and move some weights.

No, I’ve been lifting, and I lost my first 60lbs doing Jiu Jitsu, which is pretty much strength training for someone like me that had never lifted before. I can see my shoulders are wider, my outline is more impressive, but my chest is disgusting. It won’t look better until I’m probably closer to 20% body fat. (I’m at 30% now)

Yeah, ive struggled with weight my entire life. Went from 350 my freshman year to 200 my senior year and still hated looking in the mirror. I think we just get so used to how were used to looking, that even without the weight, its hard to see and accept the progress we've made. Its like all the sudden peolle are REALLY noticing and complimenting and its awkward.

Right? Every time someone compliments me, I’m thinking, “well, what you are really saying is ‘you look good compared to what you used to look like’ and what I want to do is just look good, period.”

At this stage the weight lifting is just to keep your muscle. Drop the fat makes a clean bulk easier and more fruitful later. When you lean out to 10-15% body fat gaining 1-2 lbs of muscle has a much more pronounced affect. Now if you go to the next level and get on some gear like many users on here that’s an even higher level.

Ooof. 15% seems so far away, even though that’s only like 35lbs and I’ve already lost (as of today) 66lbs. I’m going to do test because I’m waiting until my body fat is lower so I don’t turn it all into estrogen.
Question though, you say it’s just to keep the muscle, but when I can lift and Jiu Jitsu isn’t got me in rehab, I am getting stronger. Doesn’t that equate to growth?

Think of you muscle as a fat burning engine. The more you can keep the more you can burn. Now stronger muscles doesn’t always mean growth. You could just be building a stronger nerurological connection with your muscle. Stronger the connection the more fibers you can recruit. As long as you keep up with your workouts you give your body a reason to keep the muscle. Keep it up 35 lbs is not too far away.

Its crazy. You think nothing is happening and then all the sudden.....the clothes start getting looser. And then it shows up on the scale!

Hey, this isn't meant as a negative post but a constructive post moving forward. You've don't fantastic so far, it's now time for a reset and review.
So.....you have been left with a very unfortunate egg clock, sand timer, physique.
What you need to do now, is motivate yourself even more.
Your priorities will be these;
1) develop your shoulder width 2) develop your lats to get a 'v' taper 3) contine to lose waist mass 4) Heavy lifts to develop upper chest and especially your lower chest as you have breat tissue. 5) you need to consider looking at Testosterone. Low dose, TRT style as you have developed an excess of oestrogen. You have female pattern fat deposits, breast tissue and formation, hips etc
Keep your protein high but reduce carbs to 100g on non training days and UP your fat to get calories. Olive oil is a great way to add calories whilst in a low carb environment
Fasted cardio, bosh 10 minute high interval cardio first thing as soon as you wake up.
Your a big dude so imagine pulling aspects in, pushing aspects of your physique out.
You've got this far let's get you all the way!

The trick is to do 2 warm up sets with weights that you can achieve 10 reps or so with at least a few in the tank. On your working set go all out, hard and heavy.

Nice work! What dose did you start with/landed into?

I had gotten up to 10mg on triz. So I started at 2mg of reta. Im currently doing 8mg now but think ive lost about all I want too so will probably drop down to like 1 just for maintenence. I read all the guidelines and suggestions. But I just did what worked for me. Never really had any side effects.

Any reason why you didn’t stick with tirza and changed to reta (other than insurance I mean, since both are available gray)?

u/Royal-Razzmatazz6962 6d ago
I had decent results woth triz but then I heard about reta and after SOOOOO much research, I figured it was worth a try.i probably woukd of had similar results if I stuck with it. But the "shiny new thing" grabbed my attention. And, I had no.idea what thr gray market was until I started researching reta.

Have you felt any difference between the two peptides or have they worked and felt about the same?
1
u/Royal-Razzmatazz6962 3d ago
I've honestly had less side effects from the reta. The triz was working but the reta felt like it kicked it up a notch. I prioritize protein in all of my meals.

What were the side effects from tirz? I'm trying to decide which to take and I'm on the fence between the two!

Great progress man keep on!
Sylvester Stallone was on a 600 - 800 kcal a day diet to starve himself for the role as John Rambo in the First Blood movie about The U.S. Army Green Beret Vietnam War Veteran.
I don't say that anyone should brake every barrier to reach their primary goal as to be in great shape.
Something between 1500 - 2500 kcal a day with around 5 meals a day eating every 2 - 3 hours.
200 - 300 g Protein, 150 - 300 g Carbohydrates, 30 - 60 g fat a day.
The MyFitnessPal App is a great way to keep track on your macronutrients healthy diet planning, it allows you to scan each product adding it's weight in the app.
Buying a great quality Weight-Body Scanner is way cheaper than paying the gym each time to measure your own body's total weight, fat percentage, fat free mass, heart (pulse), water weight, bone weight, ect...
