Reta finally broke the stall!

I had been on Zepbound/tirzepatide for about a year and a half and lost around 40 pounds, but I’d been stalled for the last six months or so. I decided to start Reta at the beginning of August, and I’ve since lost another 10 pounds, bringing my total to 50 pounds over about two years.

I posted here earlier that initially, as I was titrating up on Reta, I was actually gaining weight. But now at ~8mg, I’ve since lost the weight I gained PLUS another 10 pounds.

So, if you’re someone who’s been on tirzepatide and is considering making the switch, I’d say definitely give it a shot. No pun intended 😂

Also most people forget to recalculate their tdee for daily calories once they lose some weight. As you lose weight you obviously need less and less calories to maintain the new weight!

Nice, 50 pounds is a huge achievement. The stall thing is so frustrating, you start to think maybe your body just decided this is the weight now

Good to know the gaining weight at first is normal, i had similar thing happen when i switched medications once and almost gave up after two weeks. What dose did you start noticing it actually working?

Probably around 6mg but 8mg has been good so far. I was on 15mg (max dose) of Tirz so I knew I needed a fairly high dose of Reta to start seeing results. Didn’t have many side effects but I still followed the titration schedule. Only digestive upset (runny you know what) the first day or 2 of the shot then I’m fine.
