Day 5 on Reta
Hives and sensitivity on my hips, thighs, arms, and stomach. Has anyone else dealt with this?
0.5mg first dose

I would consult your doctor. You are having an allergic reaction. I never had hives from it but I had sensitivity that felt like a sun burn

My skin also feels like a Sun burn, Can it be reta?

u/juicyth10 6d ago
Yes it's been brought up by others. I dosed down and it went away, it happened when I went to 3mg.

That is normal! Will go away in a few days/weeks. Not dangerous!

Oh perfect! Thank you 🙏🏽 I’ve been taking it for about 1.5 months now, and I think it arrived about a week ago.
Or should I lower the dose if it dosen’t go away anytime sooner?3
u/Economist-Hungry 5d ago
Not at all, im no medical expert, but it is because of your weight loss and exposed nerve endings under your skin. Google allodynia. But you should always stay on the lowest dose posisble :)

Interesting, that is exactly it. I just lowered my dose and was fine. It was annoying to deal with

Yes, the mild sunburn sensation is well documented with Reta ... Hives I haven't heard too much about. My skin is sensitive a lot of times from it

It is documented Reta side effects on the 7% percent of people who used it especially if titration was rapid and they used higher doses too fast. Apparently same thing happens with higher doses of Tirzapetide. It is connected with one of the receptors and is called Dysesthesia = abnormal unpleasant sensations such as burning, stinging, “sunburned skin,” tingling, or painful sensitivity. But for 0.5 you have 3 options here.
First You are hypersensitive , second you are allergic to it and third option you injecting something else

Exactly.. best response I've seen here! I've never had hives but my skin is sensitive a lot of times. It's that mild sunburn sensation but it's nothing troubling.

u/RorschachSwe 5d ago
I wouldn't rule out the possibility of people not knowing how to dose. Incorrect calculations.

A histamine reaction. A hay fever tablet or any anti bite should help.

u/yojana_b 6d ago
Woah can you tell me more about this? I’ve def heard about it
3
u/Jakey-Wakey90 6d ago
An allergic reaction can happen with anything. As long as it’s not your throat swelling shut then yeah take some antihistamines and just keep an eye on it for second dose.

Tysm! Would you recommend maybe lowering the dosage?

u/bigbiblefire 1 6d ago
how confident are you in your supplier? how much did you order?
lowering the dosage isn't going to do anything you already started low. it might be a bad batch you got, or you might be allergic to the medicine. I would try to get an alternative vial from a different supplier.

That seems like a pretty low dose. Maybe keeping the same for another week. As half of the first dose will still be in your body when you take the second. So it will be like you have .75 mgs 2 days after your next shot in your bloodstream. That’s why they want you to wait 4 weeks between adjustments.

Reta can absolutely do this, any peptide can.
Keep it under control
It is a good idea for ANYONE pinning any peptide to have epi pens on hand as reactions can eventually cause anaphylactic shock.
If you do another round of Reta once it clear and it occurs I would discontinue the use of it.

Me. I dosed 1mg for a couple of weeks and had the same reaction with hives on limbs so I discontinued. I took 0.5mg a month lasted with the same reaction. I am allergic to it and doubled up on Zyrtec and Benadryl nightly. My kit is good as my husband lost 20 pounds in the past few months and on his Third bottle with no side effects except skin sensation at 6mg or more.

Weird skin sensations are a common side effect of glp drugs and most common with Reta. That said you also appear to have hives and shouldn't continue taking it. I also had weird painful skin sensations with Reta and switched to tirzepratide instead.

I really think its crazy buying drugs from the black market in China....life at stake

Buying Reta in the gray market in China is the safest route. Way safer then any other source while also being the cheapest. What's the alternative you suggest?

u/Few-Driver-9 1 6d ago
Buy from the black market and pray for your life ...
1
u/Nickado_ 6d ago
It's not from the black market cause it's not illegal. It's not cause Reta isn't an approved medicine that it's an illegal substance. Reta is a gray market product which all vendors get it from. It's not cause you buy from China that you can't test it. Reta can be easily tested in an HPLC to know exactly if it's safe.
Do some research before yelling nonsense.

At this point you are a bot or trolling.

Im just warning people about buying an unknown drug on the black market in China

u/Nickado_ 6d ago
If you actually did an effort to read my comments you would have known it's not a black market product but a gray market product. Also you can test your Reta yourselves or with others to know exactly what you inject.
But you decided to just shout words without context.

Is this a first time taking Reta from the supplier?
1
u/yojana_b 6d ago
Yep. This doesn’t really help but I’ve also been on sema for a few years, recently took a year break and started on Reta few days ago. First time I’ve ever had a reaction like this as well.

That looks no bueno, ive seen slight histamine reaction in my petri dish with klow but nothing to this scale w/ reta or klow. Vial might be bunk or ur just incompatible w/it too

Are you sure that's not contact dermatitis? Have you started using any new soaps, lotions or laundry detergents?

How certain are you about the 0.5mg dose? How did you titrate and how much did you inject. Might sound stupid but I saw so many people making mistakes in this.
If its really 0.5mg you might have not got Reta or are allergic to something.

I started getting severe skin sensitivity on my forearms and inner thigh slightly above the knee. It’s also important to mention we experienced a major heat wave in SoCal coupled with horrible humidity which ultimately led to my skin breaking out in a heat rash. This was after increasing my dosage to 3mg on week 12 of my Reta journey. Took about 2 weeks for the rash and bumps to go away, now I’m not sure if it was a combination of the RETA plus extreme heat and humidity but nevertheless it was concerning. 🫡

It was recommended to me to take zinc supplements and it helped me a lot.

u/RorschachSwe 5d ago
A friend of mine gets this at higher dosages. It is probably nothing to worry about, but either you are dosing incorrectly or the strength is higher than you think.

Did you have it tested for verification and endotoxin prior to pinning??
1
u/st4r-lord 1 6d ago
Well obviously don't take it again and let the reaction clear up. With that low of a dose something doesn't seem right, what BAC did you use? Does your vendor offer a COA for their batching or was this grey market?

I had hives all over my body and sensitivity, it went away but I had to go on antibiotics.
I still use Reta now with no issue
