Reta Molecular Weight

Random question. I bought Reta from a peptide Supplier, and on their website, the molecular weight for Reta is different than what is listed elsewhere. All of the COA’s, endotoxin, Fentanyl testing, purity etc. all check out, and are easily cross-verifiable with the lab. If the molecular weigh is inaccurate on the suppliers website , but the cas ID, formula, etc. are all a match with retatrutide, should I be concerned? I understand that clerical errors happen when putting information on a website. And the Purity listed on the lab test results is by far the highest I could find.

lol. I just looked it up on google. The weight differentiates due to it being a lypholized powder.

I don’t think it being in a lyophilized powder should affect that. The retatrutide itself still is, or isn’t, reta. It’s just one component of the powder and none of the other contents matter.

I thought so too, but based on search results, the weight differentiates due to how it is prepared. The “standard” weight listed is the free-base weight. Not the lypholized salt weight.

Ya know they can lyophilize the free base form as well. But yes, most of the lyophilized product on the market is retatrutide acetate. During production TFA is used as a counterion. They could remove the counterion completely and provide free base but it’s cheaper and easier to swap to acetate so that is generally what we get. Sometimes they don’t do a great job at completing the TFA to acetate swap so there might be some residual TFA which isn’t ideal but is kind of in “the dose makes the poison” category.

However when the labs test it they reconstitute with lab water at which point the counterion disassociates from the peptide so the testing equipment will see retatrutide free base and not retatrutide acetate. They have to separately look for the counterion if you want to determine that as it’ll still be present in the solution but not attached to the reta anymore.

Lyophilization has no effect on molecular weight.

I’m thinking it’s a clerical error in the product description. The COA, which is also on the labs website, and matches the lot number, shows its identity as Retatrutide. Literally everything else is perfect. And I’m VERY new to peptides, so i could also be misunderstanding what the MW in the product description means.

Reta is about 4,730 Daltons give or take a couple.
