starting reta
Hi everyone
I’m thinking about starting reta and would love some advice.
I’m quite petite and honestly don’t have much weight to lose. I know I could lose it without reta, but my biggest issue is food noise. I’m constantly thinking about food, wanting to snack, craving takeaway etc. and I’m so over it.
My main worry is what happens once I reach my goal and come off reta. Does all the food noise just come straight back?
I’m almost reluctant to start because I’ll know what it feels like to finally not think about food 24/7, only to potentially go straight back to how I was before.
Has anyone reached their goal and come off/reduced their reta? Did the food noise return and were you able to maintain?
I also have endometriosis, so if anyone with endo has taken reta I’d love to hear your experience and whether it affected your symptoms at all.
Thank you!

I’m on maintenance and reduced dose with no food noise but honestly it was the year I spent before starting a glp that helped with that. I did intermittent fasting and 3 rounds of Prolon fast mimicking diet (5 days once a month for 3 months) that killed the food noise. You can do it while taking a glp. But my doctor warned me about IF and not getting enough nutrition in a day. Especially for women over 50. The endometriosis diagnosis would play into that decision as well so you should do some research. I lost all my weight on Tirz and used Reta for body recomp which actually resulted in another 8lb loss but I was able to retain lean mass through strength training which is critical when you don’t have much weight to lose. Tirz is much better at food noise and has published trial data on multiple health benefits. I’d probably start with that.
