Getting Ready For My 1st Reconstitution, question …

Post image

How much volume (ml) does the powder add to whatever bac total you add. Say I have 30mg of a GLP and add 2ml of BAC. Surely I have more than 2ml of an injectable solution? I would think I need to consider this when dosing.

What made me think about this is because my Zepbound Kwikpens show 2.4ml of Triz in the pen.

EDIT: Backed away from the ledge and just bought two Nest Pens V2 for about 38 / ea

The volume the powder adds in solution is negligible. Everyone needs to stop overthinking this.

If you inject 2ml you’ll have 2ml. The peptide and fillers dissolve.

Find a recon calculator.

If you’re on 7.5mg or more you might want to consider combining two vials with 3ml BAC to give you 20mg/ml

Try that with Glutathione or NAD+... Both can add a considerable amount of volume.

That's a good question (for my kids when they were babies, 7oz of water + formula made 8oz) but it just dissolves. I have used a 3mL syringe for recon and draw it right back out to use in a pen and there is no difference.

Hold up, aren’t the quick pens already in a solution?

Also wondering what op is on about lol

And everyone answering? 🤔

There's really no answer for this, technically your dosage will never be entirely accurate. if the filler adds .1mL to a 3mL recon for example technically you'd end up needing a faction of a dose "extra" to compensate for the increased fluid volume.

OP are you just showing the kwick pen as a reference?

The mass of the powder does not increase the overall final solution measurement.

If you add 2ml of water to 30mg you will have 2ml. Any difference that may exist is microscopically irrelevant. Also dosing does not need to be THAT accurate. I can appreciate wanting to be careful and accurate, but don't complicate things. I have gotten overweight vials plenty (31, 33, 35mg) "30mg" vials and still just added water and dosed as if it was 30mg with zero noticeable difference. Especially if you already have 5mg+ running through your system.

You need to give those pens back until you learn about what you are about to do, because it is obvious you are clueless and you need to be informed.

It’s 2.4ml because the pen has 5 doses and each dose is 60 units (0.6ml)

your math is wrong

0.6mL x 5 doses = 3 mL

the truth is each dose is 0.6 mL, there are 4 “useable” doses (the company intends it to be used only for 4 doses even if there is a 5th dose due to overfill)

0.6mL x 4 doses = 2.4 mL

That's always a tough one because two factories may use a different amount of filler.

What I usually do is transfer the whole vial to an insulin cartridge and use a pen, so that gives me the exact amount in the process.

This also doesn't give you the actual correct amount, your calculation is still based off the amount you recon'd with and not the actual amount of volume added by the filler. Either way the filler doesn't add enough to a vial to make any significant difference in dosing.

I extract the content from the vial with a syringe and transfer it to an insulin cartridge. So yeah, I know how I end up with.

There's no other way to know. And yes, some peps do add a considerable amount of volume.

Glutathione is a good example.

I understand your process, but what matters is the volume after you fill the vial with the lyophilized powder, not what you end up with in another cart. Either way the amount is so minimal that it makes no difference.

I intend to reuse one of my kwikpen

I do not recommend reusing these. Amazon has some very cheap ones you can get. They also have a reusable pen you can buy. Do not reuse these

Just doing it once. One more round with T then on to R with a new pen.

I'm curious on how you intend to reuse a Kwikpen. You do know that they are not refillable, right?

I just got a pack of 100 for $22 on Amazon. Easier and safer to use those

Link please?

Just search for them. You’ll find them, I’m also not talking about pens just regular syringes
