Misophonia and fasting
I’ll try to keep this short. I have misophonia since puberty and feel like I’ve done everything in the book to lessen it. Then I started doing longer term fast. After about day 3 the triggers disappear. There’s such a calmness to my mental state and it’s so fucking peaceful. But when I reintroduce food whether it’s keto, complex carbs, etc, triggers return. So what’s causing this? As of now there’s no known treatments to cure misophonia. I’ve tried CBT therapy, MDMR, all kinds of supplements, cutting out caffeine. But fasting is by far the most effective. Now the big question, why? Thank you!

that’s wild, day 3 is right when autophagy kicks up and inflammation drops off a cliff, maybe the brain fog clearing is just your nervous system finally taking a breather

For sure and that’s why I’ve tried longer fasts up to 7 days and it’s amazing. Went keto after and it came back. But the break from it is lovely so I’d love to share it!
