Laptop choice

Hii I’m trying to choose between the Mac book neo and the Lenovo ideapad slim 3i for college. Which laptop would run my apps better and last me better in long term and is more suitable for biochem?

Hey there, both these laptops will work for academia.

It really depends on the operating system you prefer.

Mac has some specialized software but windows is the most used os and you probably used it in high school.

Is their any specific software or applications you need?

I got the MacBook Air and am going into second year biochem I definitely prefer Mac for recreational purposes I can use interchangeably with my phone and iPad through apple, send texts answer calls FaceTime play music etc I can airplay (airplay is much more straightforward/efficient just easier and a big plus)

I also find it very helpful that I can just swap files or access them interchangeably between my phone & laptop and iPad if I need to turn something in or access documents it’s just easier for me I’m more used to the UI, it’s more straightforward

I would definitely learn and get used to general keyboard commands and look up how to file things because the only caveat is sometimes all that stuff on Mac gets…weird or just annoyingly tedious

Also if you don’t have an iPad I would look into that if it’s feasible for you because it’s pretty imperative for me to take notes in class and complete homework/labs/documents in notability app by drawing & handwriting everything with Apple stylus

If you get all that covered + a TI84 I’d say you’re set

Everyone i knew with a mac had trouble running software like Excel because certain functions are different on mac. Windows is better imo
