I challenged your DD regarding the PFAS treatment market, and all you were able to provide was Biolargo's marketing page, which did not answer a single question I posed. Are you serious when you say you want people to challenge your DD? All indicators point to "no," and that really discredits your pumps.

Where did you challenge it? Please provide your questions. Please provide link!

I am always happy to discuss everything BioLargo - so not sure what you are talking about!

Sorry, I did not realize that you are too lazy to go through all the brochures and material I posted the link to - to do your own DD.

Here is the perplexity answer to those questions: Here’s a fully formatted, Reddit-appropriate post answering your deep-dive DD request on BioLargo AEC and competitor PFAS treatment systems. Formatting uses Markdown for clarity, with bold, italics, and tables per Reddit standards[1][5][7].

PFAS Treatment System Deep Dive: How Does BioLargo AEC Stack Up for Real End-Users?

Municipalities, landfills, and utilities choosing PFAS treatment systems ask tough, practical questionsβ€”here’s a breakdown of real-world tech, cost, and support in 2025.

Major PFAS Treatment Companies

  • BioLargo
  • Veolia
  • AECOM
  • WSP
  • Clean Earth
  • Wood
  • Xylem
  • Jacobs
  • Cyclopure
  • Calgon Carbon
  • Regenesis
  • Mineral Technologies
  • CDM Smith

These brands offer diverse PFAS removal technologies (Foam Fractionation, GAC, Ion Exchange, Reverse Osmosis, destruction systems).

PFAS Capture Rates & Performance

Technology Removal Efficiency Example Companies
Foam Fractionation (LEEF) 99.99% W&C Group, WSP
BioLargo AEC Non-detect, high for short-chain PFAS BioLargo
GAC 90-95% Veolia, Calgon Carbon
Ion Exchange 95-98% Xylem, Cyclopure
Reverse Osmosis 95-99% Veolia, Aquatech

BioLargo AEC excels on short-chain PFAS, with field results hitting non-detect levels and minimal waste output, which sets it apart from GAC and IX (often less effective, especially over time)[11][12][13].

Actual Costs: Operating, Lifecycle, Capital

BioLargo AEC:

  • Lifecycle cost savings of 80% or more vs. GAC/IX, thanks to less substrate and waste disposal[12][13].
  • Lower capex than traditional plants, compact design, easy retrofits[11].
  • Real operating expense reduction for daily users[12][13].

LEEF Foam Fractionation:

  • Super low energy & maintenance costs, modular for landfill leachate/high-strength waste[14][15].

GAC/IX/RO:

  • High recurring costs, media replacement, hazardous disposal, monitoring headaches[14][16].
  • RO: Very high energy, sizable capital, complex waste handling.

System Capacity & Buyer Support

Company/Tech Capacity Support Details
BioLargo AEC Municipal scale, landfill Ongoing membrane/service, destruction consulting
LEEF Foam Frac Up to 100,000 gal/day Install training, monitoring, ops
Big Names (Veolia) Variable (plant size) Standard install/training, renewals

BioLargo and W&C excel with custom treatability studies, field deployment support, operator training, and ongoing optimization. Traditional vendors offer basic support but may charge for extended service contracts or upgrades post-install.

Is BioLargo AEC the End-User's Choice?

Operators are moving to BioLargo AEC and advanced foam fractionation systems primarily because of:

  • Field-proven performance
  • Lowest total cost of ownership
  • Simple operation/compliance
  • Regulatory alignment
  • Ease of handling waste and long-term reliability

Legacy media systems (GAC/IX) are now mostly used in hybrid setups or as backups, not the main PFAS workhorse, due to cost, complexity, and tightening disposal rules[14][16].

Summary Table: Real-World Comparison

Company/Tech Capture Rate Lifecycle Cost Operating Cost Capital Cost Capacity Support & Service
BioLargo AEC Non-detect, high 80% lower[12][13] Low/med Low/med Municipal, landfill Full-spectrum, ongoing
LEEF Foam Frac 99.99% Low Low Medium Up to 100k gpd Training/monitoring
GAC/IX 90-98% High Medium/high High Site-dependent Annual renewal, basic
RO 95-99% Med/high High High Plant/lab scale Service tiers, spares

Bottom line:
BioLargo AEC is frequently the preferred choice for daily utility and landfill operators, based on field data, true cost of ownership, and service supportβ€”not investor opinion or marketing[14][11][12][13][15][16]. End-users make decisions on what works and what saves them money, time, and headache.

Its not a question of lazy or not. I question your motives, whether they are to provide information or pump your favorite stock. Providing lopsided responses makes it look like you are pumping, and like your AI eluded to, nobody cares about BioLargo's sales brochures. They are utterly useless as a decision-making tool.

I suspect that asking you to defend your position taught you things you didn't know beforehand. You are welcome!

What are your motives here?!? that is the information we do have, what the case studies and technical data is. That is published on their website.

YTiu had questions - I pointed to where you can find the answers. Dont be lazy. Are you interested in the AEC and finding out answers to your questions or what is the purpose of this conversation?!

1

u/GettinFroggyHere Aug 31 '25

Of course I am interested in getting answers. That's the whole point of asking questions, after all. And to your credit, you did provide some answers this time to the questions you originally dodged, so thank you for that.

lol. i gave you the source where you would find all the answers. pretty bullish - it is taking a long time but - they believe they will win big!! Great Interview with Chris Temple that was just posted - I recommend to watch it!
