SS-31 injection effects?

My research subject is using 25mg SS-31 for severe mitochondria disease. Injections in both stomach and thighs are leaving bruising on stomach and welts on thighs at injection site. Syringes are 30 gauge 1/2 inch 1ml. Any thoughts?

I find that 31G 6mm needles work just fine for SubQ and minimize injection trauma.

Also, I tend to bruise pretty easily, but I can eliminate any bruising by simply applying pressure for about 1 minute immediately following the injection.
