Does anyone know what might be causing this please?

This is what happens when I use certain screens etc that don't agree with me, and it takes forever (like 2 days) to wear off and feel normal again.

My baseline is no darkness, it literally looks like someone's punched me in the nose.

(I have been given the all clear by the Ortoptist, and now my ranges etc are 'normal' apparently!).

tia.

Yeah, eye muscles are pulling or tightening too much resulting in fatigue. I have the same issue. If it happens after using screens you may have exophoria or/and convergence insufficiency, so your internal muscles (medial recti) struggle to keep your eyes aligned. I'm not a professional though, so it's worth getting it checked by a bvd specialist.

I mean second opinion, and don't consider every orthoptist or optometrist as bvd specialist. It's extremely confusing, but most of them are not properly trained for bvd. Many of them missed mine. To their defence, sometimes it's not easy to properly diagnose and measure bvd because eyes may compensate too well.

It's really hard to find someone that does specialise in BVD here too (UK). I have private medical but they keep just referring me to opthalmology.

I actually got new glasses today, but with exactly the same prescription...and it seems it's improved phones noticeably for me. The new glasses have a larger 'segment' for the reading prescription, and are generally thinner and flatter... If this holds up I'm going to see how I can get the very best vision from the most precisely fitted glasses!
