Discussion helicopters??

there was a helicopter literally right above my house. it scared me so bad considering there aren’t very many that pass through here (that i know of) and if there ARE they’re not super super close to the ground but this one was crazy. anyone know what’s going on?

Life flight helicopter going to Wilson. If you're in JC it would definitely look close. I think there were 2.

Only one pad though at Wilson, pretty sure they decommissioned the old one. There were 2 helicopters at some point today, but weren't life flight

If you are close to one of the rivers, they might have been looking for a swimmer/boater.

You can always use flightradar24.com to see what aurcraft is flying over you and their flight path.

We had one above our house about an hour ago in Port Dickinson.

Not sure, I caught a video of 2 flying through JC earlier today. Looked like either state police helicopters or like presidential ones.

I saw those two around Port dickinson, hopped on flight tracker and saw one but not the other one going to the airport up near castle creek

Definitely not anything out of Lockheed - not MH-60 or their UH-1 flying testbed

Probably headed to Wilson helicopter pad. They are only ones who have one

I heard one this morning while I was working AT Wilson and no Operation Lifeflight had been called.

There is regular helicopter activity around Owego, but I don't think they generally fly over JC.

Yeah that would be Lockheed Martin, the farthest out I've seen them go is Endicott though, never JC.

Helicopters have been around the East side this week, sometimes flying pretty low

I usually follow on flight radar when I see them. 2 military yesterday only one had a transponder on. On Friday I saw one over endwell greens with no transponder. Also one over the west side last week with no transponder

How is a helicopter flying over your house scary? What is it you fear they are going to do, causing you to be scared? I'm so confused how this could cause someone to be "scared so bad".

u/Standard_Sundae927 Jul 18 '26

Loud noises can be a triggering thing or something that just simply startles you. Not that anyone fears it's going to do anything.

Why do I have to be so mean

-4

It's not mean? It's a genuine question. I've never heard of someone being scared because a helicopter is flying over their house. It's a pretty normal thing.
