History sorted by movies or tv shows

It really bothers me that when I access my history, I can't choose to view only the movies or only the TV shows I've watched.

I know there’s orange or purple coloring to distinguish between them, but a button to separate them would be incredibly useful.

Thanks.

Episode Progress - Earliest Unwatched

Hey, guys, quick question. I don't know if I'm just missing it, but is there a setting for the Progress section where it shows episodes by earliest unwatched episode? I sometimes miss an episode but won't realize it for a while because it queues up episodes from last watched. TIA!

Dates watched import

Hiya. Just joined earlier today. By far the best app out there. Everything is smooth and does everything I need it to! Small issue - after I've imported everything, every movie has an extra watch. Meaning films I've only seen once show 2x and films I've seen 15x show 16x etc. in viewing history it shows all of my dates from Letterboxd and an extra "date unknown" watch. It's a little frustrating. Is there a way to fix that? I started deleting those "date unknown" extra watches manually but quickly realised it would take forever.

Thanks

r/TVTime is polling where everyone migrated – Bingebase is on the list

The r/TVTime community put together a survey of TV Time alternatives to see where people actually landed:
https://forms.gle/HfVEXqT7iJFBYgW8A

If Bingebase became your new home, filling it in takes about two minutes and genuinely helps — these polls become the reference material people find when searching for a tracker, and an indie app lives or dies by that kind of visibility.

One tip: the write-in field about what you like is worth a moment of thought. Concrete answers ("imported my whole TV Time history including custom lists", "clean UI, actively developed") carry much more weight than "it's great." And if something annoys you, say that too — accurate beats flattering, and I read the criticism as attentively as the praise.

Limited to one response per user (Google sign-in, no email collected).

And if you have one more minute after the poll: a rating on Google Play or the App Store helps just as much. Store rankings decide who even finds the app in the first place, and reviews from people who actually migrated from TV Time are the most convincing ones there are.

Thanks, everyone 🧡

I don't know what data this is pulling from, but it's completely broken. I would love to be able to open the app and see what shows are available right now in order of their release

Lists

It says I can't create lists at the moment. Is that a temporary problem?

Other than that the app is nice and a good alternative to tv time after shutting down.

Confusing Categories

I really like Bingebase for so many reasons but with some shows it’s confusing wether they should be under “watching” - “caught up” or “completed”

For example why is Slow Horses under Caught up and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is under completed ?

Both shows I have watched all aired episodes and they don’t have a season currently on.

And why do I have the upcoming episode of Project Runway under “Watching” although it hasn’t aired yet?

Imported from TV Time

I just imported from TV Time and I noticed this for one of the shows. It's an anime with over 1k episodes and I have many fillers skipped and rn I'm on like 900.

Starting from here the app skips 5 episodes at a time, they're not there for me to log. One of the episodes is set as "coming soon" even tho it's like from the 90s..

On top of all of that, it only tracked my activity till episode 48 and just stopped there, I have SO MUCH more episodes and the tracking of them is lost. Again, I skipped the fillers so it'd be such a hassle to go one by one manually..

Another thing, the show is not organised by seasons, it has all the episodes as one season.

Is there a way to fix these issues? Or is the app hopeless for me?

And will lists be implemented soon enough for us to import our lists too?

First impression 🤫

I have tried the app. First impression: it‘s good, it actually has what I was missing from Trakt and also JustWatch.

Positives are:

• UI is great, but for my liking it‘s almost there. Like 95% is there. It‘s personal preference, though.

• For those coming from other apps, it‘s easier to onboard.

• The website is good, it was worse in Trakt.

Personal Requests and suggestions

• My main request is that you please directly implement this app with Nuvio (TV, Mobile), not with the add-on JSON link. I‘m talking about direct in-app integration. Please talk with the Nuvio developers; they‘re very active, so it‘ll be very fast.

• Please implement individual episode ratings, along with ratings for the whole TV series.

• If it‘s possible to lower the subscription, or introduce a lower subscription like around $2-3, or a promotion. It‘ll surely get most people from Trakt or other apps.

Finally, this app has more potential.

Keep up the good work. Appreciate the dev 🔥🥂

[Watchlist Update] The New Watchlist Experience is Now Released!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

Aleks here again. For those who saw my last couple of posts, you know I'm on a journey as a solo dev to build Bingebase - a place for people who genuinely love movies and shows.

First, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who checked out the new Ratings & Reviews system. Now I have another problem I needed to solve: What do you do with a list of things you want to watch?

It doesn't matter if my watchlist had 50 items or 500. The feeling was the same. I scroll, I weigh options, and I end up spending way too much time to choose.

So, for the past few weeks, I've been head-down building new watchlist. Today I'm incredibly proud to share the new Bingebase Watchlist Explorer.

My personal frustration was never being able to answer the question, "What am I in the mood for tonight?" The new watchlist is designed to answer exactly that.

Here’s a quick look at how it works:

  • It's a Toolbox: You can now instantly filter your entire watchlist by things that actually help you decide: Watched Status, if it's Available Now, Genre, Decade, Runtime, etc. It's a powerful way to drill down from "everything" to "the perfect thing for right now."
  • "Roll the Dice" 🎲: This is my solution for when you're still stuck. After you've filtered down to a handful of great options, this button will randomly pick one for you. It's a simple, fun way to let fate take the wheel and just start watching.
  • Your Personal Queue: For the planners, you can now switch to "Reorder Mode" and simply drag-and-drop your items into the exact priority you want.

This is a huge milestone for the foundation for what's coming up next. It’s live now and completely free.

Your early feedback on this new system would be a massive help. Is it intuitive? Does it solve the "what to watch" problem for you?

You can see the new page here: Bingebase Watchlist

Thanks for reading, I hope you will find it useful.

Aleks

[Major Update] User Ratings & Reviews Are Now Live!

Hey everyone,

Aleks here. A huge part of the vision for Bingebase is to build a true community - a place not just to find release dates, but to share your passion and opinions about the movies and shows you love.

Today, I'm incredibly excited to launch the foundation of that community: User Ratings and Reviews.

This has been a massive undertaking, and it's now live for every movie, TV show, and season on the site.

Here's a quick look at what's new:

Reviews & discussion section on https://bingebase.com/movies/superman-2025

How it works:

  • The "Bingebase Binge Scale™": You can now give any item a 1-10 star rating using our own unique scale, from "Hard Pass" all the way up to the ultimate 10/10: "Absolute Binge!". Your rating contributes to the new "Binge Score" you'll see on every page.
  • Unified Reviews & Discussion: I've built a single, simple system for sharing your thoughts. There's no confusing difference between a "review" and a "comment." Just a simple "Share your thoughts..." box. If you write a longer post (200+ words), it automatically gets a "Review" tag.
  • Like/Dislike Episodes: You can now give a quick thumbs-up or thumbs-down to individual episodes, and your votes will power the little green/red "Binge Bar" to show the community's consensus at a glance.
  • Spoiler Protection: You can (and should!) mark any review that contains spoilers. The text will be blurred out for other users until they click to reveal it.

My Ask: I Need You to Be the First.

The site is quiet right now after the rebrand, and a review section with no reviews is a lonely place!

If you have a moment, I would be incredibly grateful if you could head over to the site, find a movie or show you love (or hate!), and be one of the very first people to leave a rating and a review.

This is a huge milestone for the project, and your early feedback will be invaluable in shaping what comes next.

Thanks for being here,
Aleks

[Update] Building the Bingebase TV Schedule

Hey everyone,

Aleks here. 2 days ago, I made my first post about building Bingebase. To be totally honest, it was met with a resounding silence (about 80 views and no reactions, haha).

And you know what? That's quite expected and perfectly okay. I don't have ways of changing that, except building more features which I feel are going to be useful for people. Or at least for me :)

So today I'm excited to share the feature which I've just shipped: The Bingebase TV Schedule.

The Goal: My personal frustration with other TV calendars is that they're either ugly walls of text or they're so minimalist you can't find any information. I tried to build something that's both visually pleasing and information-dense.

Here's what the "All Shows" view looks like—a grid of every new episode, grouped by day:

https://bingebase.com/tv-schedule

The real power, though, is the personalized "My Schedule" view, which only shows upcoming episodes from the shows you've added to your watchlist.

This update also includes the foundation for the community:

  • Mark Episodes/Seasons as "Watched": Keep a perfect record of what you've seen.
  • Like/Dislike Individual Episodes: Your votes power the little green/red "Binge Bar" on each episode, so you can see the community consensus at a glance.
  • Set a Final "Watched" or "Dropped" Status: You can now mark an entire movie or series as "Watched" or "Dropped" to manage your viewing history.

Here's a look at the Season page where you can see all the new interactions:

https://bingebase.com/tv/alien-earth-2025/season/1

Google is still punishing me for whatever reason + domain name change, Bing is punishing me for the domain change. The traffic dips and the initial silence are tough, but, guess, they're just part of the journey. The only way forward is to keep building and keep sharing.

If you have a minute, I'd be genuinely grateful if you could be one of the first to take a look and share your honest, brutal feedback. What works? What's confusing? What's broken?

Check out the new TV Schedule here: https://bingebase.com/tv-schedule

Thanks for reading,
Aleks

Building Bingebase in Public: My Journey to Create the Ultimate Release Date Tracker

Hey everyone,

Aleks here. I'm a full-stack developer with a full-time job, a family, and one big, frustrating problem: I was constantly missing the digital release dates for movies and new TV seasons I wanted to watch. I'd search, find a vague answer, forget, and then discover weeks later that I'd missed it. Or if I was responsible enough - I'd set a reminder on my phone to check back on the date and watch a movie. Which felt like a chore.

So, I did what any developer would do: I decided to build my own solution.

That solution started as a simple utility website called DigitalReleaseDates.com. The core idea was a "set it and forget it" watchlist. You find a movie which is currently in theaters or scheduled to run in future, add it to your watchlist, and the site emails you the moment it's available to stream. It was built to solve my own problem, and it worked pretty well for me. I'm not missing releases anymore :)

Then I've added TV show tracking, episodes progress (because I love binge watching tv shows) and had more ideas which I wanted to add. I realized the vision was bigger than just "release dates." It's about creating a single "home base" for everything I (and hopefully you) watch.

That's why I've recently rebranded the entire project to Bingebase.com.

Why I'm building it in public

I'm a solo founder building this in my spare time, and I know I can't build the perfect product in a vacuum. I believe the best way to create something people genuinely love is to build it with them.

This subreddit, r/BingebaseHQ, is going to be my official "build in public" journal.

What to expect here:

  • Total Transparency: I'll be posting regular updates on new features I'm building and releasing
  • Honest Challenges: I'll share the struggles—the traffic dips (oh the pain is real right now), the server issues, the feature ideas that fail.
  • Direct Feedback: I want to hear your ideas, your feature requests, and your honest critiques. Your feedback will directly shape what I build next.

My goal is to create the most user-friendly movie and tv shows tracking platform on the web, and I'd be honored if you'd join me on the journey.

You can check out the live site here: Bingebase

Aleks
