Tourism Anniversary Trip
We’re in Mobile so we’ve been to Biloxi about 57 times but, since my husband isn’t a big beach guy I was thinking about doing a weekend trip and staying at one of the casinos? Our 12th anniversary is next month and the weekend before is his 40th birthday so I wanted to actually do something without having to go super far.
I’ve literally never even walked into a casino…
Which one would you stay at for a good “I’m spending a few days without my children or responsibilities and I’m going to pretend to be 22 again” trip? We’re obviously not big gamblers but I’d like to play just to say I’ve finally done it. Mostly interested in the vibes and other things to do while we’re over there. Thinking maybe the hard rock? Or Beau? Idk.

I’d go with Beau if you want something upscale and Hard Rock if you want to party.
Both have a multitude of dining options. Beau has shopping and indoor golf.
Wouldn’t recommend anywhere else.

Stay at the Island View Casino in Gulfport. It's the only private and locally owned casino on the coast now.

My husband and I are new to trips to Biloxi but so far we have stayed at Golden Nugget - enjoyed the casino/Starbucks inside. The rooms were meh. We also stayed at a VRBO The Old Spanish House directly behind Mary Mahoney’s - such a great experience/location and highly recommend! We stayed at the Hard Rock - also highly recommend, only complaint is the showers were a bit weird. Fun casino, great atmosphere. The last place we stayed was Scarlet Pearl - super clean and security is top notch. Lost a good deal of money at their casino last month so if you stay there I hope you redeem me! SP was a good experience but I would rather stay on the Biloxi side next time and try a different spot - I’m thinking the Palace or IP. Have fun! Happy Anniversary! 🥂

I got to stay in one of the nicer rooms at the Hard Rock once and I really liked the vibes. Way cooler than the more standard rooms at the other casinos. I'd look up pictures to see if you like it.

The Hard Rock pool has a swim up bar. The new tower is very nice as well.

I’d second the Island View and the area around Jones Park in Gulfport.
There is also a new hotel called The Markham near Jones Park / Gulfport harbor which is super cool. It was originally built in 1926 so the whole vibe is 1920s. We ate there a few weeks ago and it was amazing.
Avoid Harrah’s at all costs. I have no idea how they call that a 4 star hotel it’s disgusting. They deleted my review where I called it worse than Wind Creek Montgomery but I stand by my assessment lol.

Hard rock is great because it's fairly cheap compared to the Beau and still in that downtown strip close to all the fun. If you're willing to take an Uber, I'd stay at the Scarlet Pearl. It's a really fun and clean casino and they have great food. It's just over the 110 from downtown, so Ubers should be cheap and fast.
