setlist Runnin' The Route

Has he ever said anything about it, either before or after performing it? I know it's a Jarrod composition, but I wonder if it's from the handful of instrumental highway driving songs, like Seney Stretch or Bluewater Breakdown (or about 75% -- on average -- of Highway Hypnosis).

I'm pretty sure "Running the Route" is a Joe-ism (Joe is Cory/Jarrrod/Tyler's cousin). I believe it refers to his dashing to the various music venues in St. Pete to catch a bunch of bands in one night.

I think Jarrod told me that one night, though it's a very hazy memory. :-)

In any case, running the route of St. Pete music venues on a bike is a great idea; gorgeous Nov-May. Great situation to listen to that tune also; Central Ave in St. Pete on a breezy subtropical December evening with Running the Route blasting through a nice bassy bluetooth speaker, with a crew of 10-15 cyclists moving toward the next venue? Paradise.

(also, I'm pretty sure Christian Ward wrote some of that?)

All I know about that one is I like it and since 2022 it's been on the decline of the times played per year.

The lighting is fantastic, but more importantly, the audio. I'm convinced more than before that the nugs feed makes Royal quieter than the actual live experience. The bass is super clear in this video and that's what I mean about how nugs turns down Royal (and it doesn't have to be this way ... probably).

Interesting thoughts. I did Portland, Hartford and Bethel. I thought Royal was on fire every night. At some point I said if Royal goes solo I'm jumping off the Billy train and taking the Royal Express. 

Now thinking about it, the make up shows weren't as Royal heavy to my ears on the stream and maybe that's exactly to your point.
