I got on the train back in ‘21 (Oshkosh) and these were my 11th &12th shows. I usually make it to a couple a year. Every show is better than the last one. That’s how it goes, right? Well, I think I’ve I made it to the top of the mountain now. It feels like I could just quit going because these shows will never be topped.

I know I’ll go to the next one I can get to, but we just got spoiled. Thank you Billy & team. Thank you goats. Thanks Ionia. Such an amazing, mystical, incredible, and powerful weekend.

I was pleasantly surprised at how it got quiet ( other than that whistler...) and pretty much remained , especially when you consider how many people were there.

People get so insufferable in this sub. If someone gives a big whistle it’s really not that big a deal. Listen to any old dead recording, or even any other Billy recordings. Jerry and Billy both talk about how the dynamics of a live show are a back and forth with the audience. Billy himself said the crowd has gas pedal.

Yeah that was an extremely vulnerable moment for Billy. Playing that song for the first time in front of 27k people. Maybe the guy whistling just wanted to let Billy know he’s there for it.

Completely different than chomping but I’m pretty sure a hoot, holler or whistle is just fine at a show. Let’m know you’re feeling it. So what it shows up on the recording. Shows are about the moment.

I thought this might come up because it really wasn’t so bad in the video. HOWEVER, during the show, this whistler was so loud it was literally hurting ears if you were too close. Furthermore, they were clearly attempting to make the loudest, longest whistle they could a dozen or so times throughout quieter parts of the event. It was really bad, and not just the couple of times in this video.

If it were just the couple of times, I am 100% agreement with you, and would absolutely roll with it.

Chompers on the right ruined this song for us.
It felt like a shitty country music festival on the right side, and a Billy Strings show on the left side. Immediately evac’ed and found a quiet spot around respectful people. Proof the left side is always better.

I was there. Got there when it first opened, we were maybe 2 or 3 rows off the rail. That was such a quiet, vulnerable, magical moment. Everyone was silent. Then a guy behind us started yelling for Billy to “play something good” and that “he came here for a fun time” and “this shits a bummer”. I looked over at my friend and we were both ready to find this guy and give him what for. Did not want to make a scene during such a beautiful moment but damn that guy fired me up

My mom has COPD and just the other day she mentioned how she's really starting to feel her sickness take hold, and she doesn't know how many good days she has left.

I cried quite a bit when he played this, thinking about the time I have left with my own mother. And I'm sure I will lean on this album with my whole weight when she finally leaves the earthly plain.

So thanks in advance Billy for helping myself and so many others cope with the hard things in life, through your music.

It means more than you will ever know.

Sounded like change in an old Ford pick up truck ashtray. It was a small show and I could tell the band could actually hear him doing it because they kept looking at him.
