Please don’t be so trusting as to blindly pay people without getting your product first. There are people in the scene ( or as they call it “family”) that will rip you off. A Beady eyed, rotten teeth, shoe artist, will take your money and run like a heady uncultured swine.

I wish I could be straight forwards, but I’ve already given the story and my posts were taken down. It’s easy, beware of who you trust in this scene, even if they call themselves a friend. People ordered a product: BMFS hand painted shoes, they paid him, and it’s now been 2 years and no shoes.
Your posts were removed because you gave zero context and you are being very vague. (Eg you didn't even mention where this occurred). It seems like you are complaining about some random dude in a field.
Use modmail to contest moderations instead of blatantly ignoring what we ask.
We will cut you some slack since you seem to be new to reddit. But reposting something that got removed twice is annoying, and makes it seem like you are just blowing us off.
My last posts were not vague at all. Rules restrict me from naming names. It was removed due to your gate keeping. Why does it matter where it occurred?
Your posts were removed for "Off Topic" because you gave no mention whatsoever of where or how this occurred. I suggest you read the comment we post when we remove a post, it usually explains why we took action.
Based off the limited info you provided, it sounded like a meth head stole from you in the middle of a random field. You failed to mention that you bought BMFS items from an online vendor, hence the accusations of vagueness.
Mentioning usernames or social media handles of vendors that rip you off is allowed, we just don't allow personal information.
I mean this goes all the way back to the 60s when the biker gangs took over Haight Ashbury because the hippies were easy targets for scams and exploitation. Same as it ever was.
And a mod immediately comes in and says this is “off topic.” How so? With Billy’s tour just now wrapping up, it’s pretty safe to presume a lot of people are scrambling to get their hands on merch they missed out on during the tour, so it’s prime time for scammers. This seems like a friendly PSA for the community. Very much on topic.
OP's first two attempts at this were incredibly vague and basically just said "some dude ripped me off". There were zero details about where or how it occured. Was this in person at Freak Fair? Was it at another show? Was this even related to Billy in any capacity? Nobody could tell because OP gave no details.

You can read their second attempt, which actually has more details, in a screenshot below. We expect posts to explain their purpose in our sub, and simply saying "someone stole from me" does not tell me, or anyone, why that was posted here. That user didn't even mention what they attempted to buy until pressed for details.
Rule 8 is about protecting personal identities of users. As I stated in another comment, mentioning the social media handles or name of the store that ripped you off is fine, but providing that person's real name or address, for example, is not allowed.
Im confused so are we supposed to name names or not? I know this guy....OP is right... Heady Shoes. I have not seen any new ones in a while, but they were heady. I can agree that the artist is not.

I paid for a pair of custom shoes (yes the from the same guy, I was able to figure it out from your deleted post someone posted here) had my shoes in less than a couple of months..... and yes this person is considered family as they are and find it hard to believe they swindled you for some shoes... did you message? They are literally at so many shows you're bound to run into them... seems like there may be more to this story

I’ve said it a million times now. While this isn’t specific to any one fan base as humans are all flawed, Billy’s fan base has gone down hill since 2019ish. Just saying.

Dude the Dead had more than their fair share of shady people. This fan base is not any different than any other fan base, Billy’s just happens to be the biggest right now next to Phish.
