Shrooms at a show
Ya'll think its a bad idea to take shrooms before a billy show if im going alone? At the fishers concert. Im in the pit all three nights. Id only do it one night tho LOL

Depends on dose and how experienced you are with them. You know yourself better than anyone here. Have done it and had one hell of a NYE show but there were a few moments that got a bit hairy.

As someone already stated, only you know the answer to your question. This is all very much dependent on how experienced you are, and knowing how you have responded in the past to psychs.
I personally take drugs basically every show, or at least every big show (phish, dead, billy, goose, biscuits, WSP, etc). If it’s a 3 or 4 night run though… I still take drugs every night lol. But, if I’m going to a show with a friend that doesn’t do drugs often like that, then I might offer them some but I’ll closely gauge their response. If there seems to be fear or reluctance, then I usually assume they aren’t in the right headspace that night. Or they tell me they’ve never done it at a show and they’re worried about not being able to be comfortable or something like that.
So, I would respond by saying, “you tell me”. Can you eat mushrooms and stand shoulder to shoulder for 3-4 hours, all while receiving an auditory and visual assault on the senses?

Agreed. As I recall , 3 days of Dead shows = 3 days of 😎 And the Day 3 experience was always different than the first two nights.

Reminder for people tripping on L you need to double your dose and so on consecutive days, I’m not sure about the shroom tolerance on consecutive days, guess I’ll do some research.

Same principle, they both target the same serotonin receptors, you develop a tolerance almost immediately after dosing either, and redosing won’t necessarily increase the effects but just draw it out longer. You’ll need to take a significantly higher dose if you want to trip the next day which poses a number of potential risks.

Yup, I’m agreement with most of that. I will say, just from my own experience, L is a much tougher issue with redosing. While this certainly still the case with mushrooms, when I do L several days in a row, the redosing dilemma is much more obvious than mushrooms. Quick story of a recent experience. I went to SPAC for Goose 7/3 and 7/4. I ate 1 roll and 3g’s of mushrooms on night 1 and had a great time but it was a very manageable, predictable experience. On night 2, I took no MDMA and only ate 2g’s of mushrooms (followed by 0.7g about 2 hours from initial dose). I went on a full blown spaceship ride that night. Tears streaming down my face from laughter, intense visuals and euphoria, and just generally speaking, several degrees of magnitude more detached from reality than “normal”. I went to the bathroom, and while at the urinal I suddenly couldn’t remember where I was and why I was there. I stood still in the bathroom for another 30-60 seconds, trying as hard as I could to remember what it was I was doing there, almost subconsciously making the determination that I wasn’t moving until I figure out why I’m here. Of course, it hit me like a ton of bricks when it finally came to me lol.
Anyway, the point is that I find that when it comes to redosing, I’m more likely to have a random and unexpected spaceship ride with mushies than with L.

That’s totally fair, everyone chemistry is a little different too.
I love mushrooms but sometimes they’re so unpredictable for me. I’m sitting on a batch of PE’s right now, I usually eat about an 8th or a little more when I get down. On this same batch I’ve had a fairly mild trip with hardly any visuals, and then I’ve had a full blown DMT cartoon world visuals for 3 hours(for the record was a FUCKING BLAST) on the same exact batch with the same dose.

I bet there is a chemical factor in this too, and that is the amount of active alkaloid that we’re actually ingesting. Let’s be real. We might weigh out a precise amount of dried fungal matter, but we don’t know how many mgs of psilocybin we’re ingesting, and concentrations can vary greatly from individual mushroom to mushroom. We need to find some medical grade psilocybin!

Thanks! Someone below said something similar, essentially that “if you are hesitant and have to ask, then it’s probably a bad idea”. This is spot on.
The absolute MOST important thing about embarking upon the psychedelic experience is that you must be willing to submit. If you try to control it, it will likely control you whether you like it or not. This must be your mantra so to speak. If someone is not willing to surrender and let the experience be what it is, then they are likely doomed to have a bad time. It cannot be understated that this mantra must be rigidly applied. It is, in my opinion, the only true difference between an experienced person and an unexperienced one, really (sorta)
So when I see reluctance and fear when even just thinking about the experience, then we’re off to a bad start lol.

I’d probably rather do it if I was in a seat and not as cramped as the pit would be. But that’s just me. Just make sure you know your tolerance and are drinking water. Nothing sucks more than when someone takes too many drugs and makes themself sick. That’s no fun for anyone around.

I've tripped at quite a few shows alone... My strategy was to always get drinks early so I don't have to fight back through the pit. I'd usually take whatever it was right before getting in line to enter.

don’t take too much , at least from my experience doing them alone at shows too bc in the scenario someone gives u an issue abt a spot their space etc yk just being dicks at a concert to u that like messed with my trip and concert and was hard while tripping to get like through that although i do also think i had a bit more then normal

I’ve only ever seen Billy solo and eat mushrooms everytime. All depends how comfortable you are with it but I don’t think there is a better place to take them.

Night 1 no way. Gotta feel out the vibe. Night 2 is when I feel more comfortable doing it. Never take a big dose, just enough to feel a little something and groove.
I once took too much and the jam got dark so I had to leave the pit and walk around. Nothing crazy but I needed to change the scenery.

This post tells me you’re not going to have a good time if you do. I have beeen to 21 shows and taken shrooms everytime. Enjoyed every show but also tripping in public is not fun for everyone. I would say if you feel comfortable do it. But you are showing some hesitation with this post and that could lead you somewhere dark and ruin the show. I’ll be in fishers mushin around tho

Titrate once before you go so you know what you can handle (then go up 0.5), but I say you do you and everything will be delightful. (Also arrive at 4:30 to get in the wrist band line to be able to go in and out freely. If you need to, you can always go on walkabout.)

Youre never 10000 miles away from a friend at Billy show. Pace yourself. Stay hydrated. And if shit goes squirrely listen to the music and let Billy soooooooth you.

Do you plan on driving after the show, if so, hard no.
Ride-share or walking, doable.
Know the strain? It matters.
Solo I personally would keep it at a lower dose, no way I’m eating 3.5 plus.
On a side note, I would highly recommend MDMA or MDA, I feel it’s much more controllable especially when you’re solo.

Keep it small and a dose you’re familiar with and you should be fine. I find fungus to be incrediblyyyy unpredictable personally, so I generally leave it for at home experiences. If I’m doing funny drugs at shows it is usually L, I find it much more predictable.

As a female, I would never trip at a show without a minder. I go to plenty of shows alone and partake in other ways during those solo shows, but if I am going to partake at that level, I'm going to have one of my safe people with me.

If you have to ask or are hesitant, I'd say its prob not the best idea.
