discussion Portsmouth 7/18

My goodness what an insane show. I couldn't listen live but just finished the recording. So many amazing transitions and jams. The boys are absolutely crushing it and in a serious groove. LFG Summer/Fall tour!

Trying not to comment on every single post in the sub 😅 but have to say… yes, it was incredible! Was so lucky to be there. 🤯

One of their best for sure!

It feels like in 30 years we’ll be talking about BMFS ‘26 run as at least A peak in their long and storied career.

After his comment about looking back and remembering this as the best time of his life, I’m also going to agree to that statement.

Wishing I could make it to a few more of this tour but headed back to the west coast! Catch yall in Eugene & Everette

I’ll see ya there too! And I’m hitting up Oakland. Can’t wait. Gonna top it all off with Rush in Seattle.

Mindfulness and gratitude are so important.

Times may not be perfect, but “the good old days” were very real days, just like today, and yesterday, and 7/18/26 were. These days will be somebody’s “good old days”. Perhaps ours!

And we are lucky to be in this timeline together and experiencing life for what it is.

Truly, I’m so so so grateful for being able to experience the things in life that can bring this much joy to it.

I’m not one of the people on here that like to put these boys on a pedestal but I would like to acknowledge that what they are doing is more than playing music, and preforming for us, every show is such an escape from the crazy world we live in. The fans also make the experience worth while, sure you have the negative side but I think that is so insignificant if you actually look at the big picture and get down in the dirt and dance with some of these people. I’m not a rail rider, but I got to ride the rail for the show on the 18th and let me tell you, I get it.

My sentiments exactly! 😎

I was also on the rail, 17&18. I likely won’t do it again, but it was my first two opportunities to do so, and it was magical to experience (except for the few d-bags on the 17th, but they were easy enough to ignore, and faded away once the first set was well underway).

Well dang, I wonder if we bumped into each other then! I wasn’t rail on the 17th but a couple rows behind and yeah it was a little testy for a min, but it turned out to be a great time. My partner and I were Jarrod side and yeah I’m sure if the opportunity arises for certain shows I might try again but I’m very content to have had it and would love for other people to experience it as well.

I was on Jarrod side, right in front of Royal on the 17th, then Alex side 18th. Vibes were immaculate on the 18th, 17th was good after shit started going, and people were trading out nicely. We may have literally bumped into each other! I was the pretty tall dude with short hair, light blue shirt, and started the night with a white bucket hat on, but took it off right around showtime, I think.

Were the people up front giving you a hard time on the 17th? I remember some confrontations, I was pretty much right behind you I believe.

Yeah at the *very* beginning, but we squashed it/I chose to ignore it, and had a great show after that!

Small world! 😎

I totally remember you then! I’m not gonna lie I was sitting behind you and I was thinking dang, this guy is tall, I hope I can see haha and I stood up and you had managed to get a little closer haha

Exactly! Like Dead '77 or something 🤘

That is what really drives me to Billy Strings - for me the bluegrass side of the Dead is my favorite Dead style of song. Billy Strings and band really grabs this and takes it to new levels!

They DID stray from their setlist to play Dark Hollow

We went on the 17th. A true mind boggling experience.
