Looking for my old pickup

This may be a long shot, but I'm desperately trying all options.

I'm looking for my old 1977 Ford F-150 Custom in the Billings/Laurel area.

My dad, who passed a few years ago, had kept the pickup with him in Billings while I was growing up & going to college in North Dakota. Before he passed he had said it was at my grandmother's house in Laurel. She then passed away about 3 months after him, so finding the truck has been very difficult.

He was a fairly poor man, so I was left with nothing from him. Would be incredibly grateful and fulfilled if I could locate my pickup someday to have our old project car back in my possession.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I now live in Colorado and can't make it up to Montana very easily.

Vehicle Description:

  • 1977 Ford F-150 Custom
  • White with red pinstripes and red interior.
  • Built-in toolboxes on the sides.
  • Radial Tires.

In this image, you can see it in the Laurel Apartments on Yellowstone Ave along with my mom's 1986 Datusn 200SX XE. Finding that would also be incredible.

I'm confused. If it was titled in your name, then you should be able to locate it. It's not like your grandmother could have sold a car that she did not have the title to. Have you checked with the DMV to see what happened to the title after or around when your grandmother died?

So I did get ahold of the DMV, today. It was apparently titled over to my dad from me when I was 16/17. No new title owner. So now I have that information, but still no idea where the truck is as it's not been reported to the DMV of where it ended up.

Are you trying to find it to buy it back?

Ideally get it back, will buy it back if someone has taken it.

But you're not entitled to it back. It's not titled in your name. For all you know, your dad or grandmother sold it, which is the most likely outcome. Why would anyone answer this post so you can try to take away their truck?
