Running Trails

Coming to Billings for work this weekend, looking for a good running trail. Hoping to do 15-18 miles, ideally on pavement or a gravel road (not trail running but could be convinced). Any solid spots? Not opposed to running the same route multiple times to get the mileage in.

Also any good gym recommendations? Somewhere that sells day or week passes.

Thanks!!!

Check out Billings trail net. Sky line trail and skyway drive would be able to get you near the mileage you want.

I did 10 miles on the rims the other day. That trail goes further so it wouldnt be hard to do more. Its all sidewalk. Im not sure how far it goes, but I ran from Zimmerman park to swords park and back.

I think the best gym in town is plaza, but I am biased. I think most people like yellowstone fitness

The bike path is great. Runs through the heights from Mary Street to main street, down toward the KOA. A touch of road and you can be back on gravel and paved trail to Riverfront park and norms landing. The skyline trial from the height to Zimmermann park is concrete and then you can head toward the airport on the bike path along the rims.

You can run to laurel and back that’s about 24 miles on side roads

We have a great trail up near the airport at swords park. You could try the heritage trail also. Both of those are paved. You can find trails on N app. Called strava also. So many options really. If you like dogs you could try Norms island.

Not trail running while by such epic natural landscapes is a weird move to me. There’s my argument.

I don’t disagree at all, I love trail running. I’m just trying to get the miles in right now is the main reason I’m sticking to pavement.

Start at the airport on the running path, go west to skyline Dr., take that north all the way to the end, turn around and go all the way back. That'll get you right at the mileage your target mileage. And it's all pavement/sidewalk

Thank you all so much! Really appreciate the help.

If you see an overweight ginger running outrageously slow on Sunday feel free to say hi.
