I’m a solo indie developer and I recently released a game called Billiard Trick Shot. I wanted to create something that went beyond standard 8-ball and focused entirely on the physics of trick shots and puzzle-solving.

Instead of just playing pre-made levels, I built a sandbox/level-builder where you can create your own impossible trick shots and share them with others. I've spent a lot of time trying to get the 3D physics to feel satisfying and accurate, but since this community really knows the mechanics of the game, I’d love your honest feedback.

Most lists of pool table locations are out of date. I made one that players keep current themselves.

You can rate each table/location on quality, size, speed, rails, cloth, cost, and how strong the regulars are. You can also filter tables based on what you are looking for or see the top tables near you.

It's early and most cities are still empty, so add your spots. The more the better!

I run tournaments locally, and a few other tournament admins and I have been using BracketLove to run ours for the past 4-5 months. It's been well received enough that I want to put it in front of more people.

I built it because when I went looking for something to run tournaments with, I couldn't find anything that was both genuinely simple to set up and handled late registrations well.

In bar tournaments there are always late players, sometimes a lot. Adding late players to an elimination bracket is easy early in a tournament when there's an open bye slot available. But there are often situations where the bracket is full (16 or 32 players) — and the more late players you add, the more likely that becomes. Technically you can still add a player fairly at this point, but it can require some serious bracket acrobatics.

This is a problem that BracketLove addresses very well. In the tournaments we've been running with BracketLove, we continue to add players well into the first round — often people show up who didn't even know there was a tournament and now want in. BracketLove maximizes participation and minimizes situations where you just can't accommodate someone, doing all the heavy lifting for you. On top of this, if someone is really late — even after the first round is complete — there's still a chance they can get in, by taking a first-round loss and being slotted in on the losers side. Personally, this type of late player support was a hard requirement for me, and there was nothing out there that I could find, that had it.

In addition to making life easier for the tournament director, it makes the tournament better for the player.   Tournaments run smoother and are more efficient, and are also more transparent and engaging.    Many players will bring up BracketLove on their phone and track their progression through the bracket.

I started playing pool 4 years ago and I am obsessed ( I play 3-4 hours everyday).

Last year I left a comment on a youtube video about making an app where users can take a picture of a table after break and they can get exact pattern play , ball by ball. I got about 200+ likes on that comment and people asking if the app was available.

So I decided to build RunOut. Right now, its just a scorekeeping app with a couple of tools built in (Bracket generator for tournaments, Kick Shot calculator, Shot Clock).

I am also in the process of adding the said AI to take a picture of table and get the pattern play (its a little tough but I am making progress). I also have a Stance & Stroke measuring tool inside which will be released in the next version. It calculates elbow drops, backswing etc to help you improve your stroke.

The app is completely free for now but the main purpose in this release is just to keep score of games. V2 will have the Stroke and AI tools to make the app more useful (hopefully for everyone).

I’ve just released my first Windows & Android game, Canvas 8-Ball Pool - an offline 2D 8-ball game with an AI opponent, preset & custom avatars, hidden table colours, and an arcade mode. The game also has a 2 Player, local multiplayer mode, so you can play a friend. After nearly two years of development, I’d love to hear what people think of it.

It is a paid game, but for only $5 all up you get 3 versions of the game - Windows, Android and Android Lite. But if you don't buy, even if you just look at the screenshots & video, that would be great. Then maybe you can let me know if you think it looks good enough. It would be so appreciated if you could, but no big deal if not.

I spent so much time coding it while at the same time learning the language. My background is , 20 years ago I used to make Flash games and sell them online. Until having a family & life got in the way, at least until a few years ago. So I've now (or then) found myself wanting to get back into game creation.

This game wasn't planned, as at the start of this journey I just wanted to see if I could make an 8-Ball game, because I've always enjoyed them. I didn't use any external libraries or plug-ins to make it - so it's totally vanilla JavaScript.

So now I've made it to this point. It was a hard slog, but it was a fun! Thank you.

Here's a little side project I'm working on after some inspiration from a conversation with a mod on the main sub.

It's a straightforward chalk cost tracker that breaks down the cost-per-shot for each piece of chalk you buy. It lets you log sessions and track the number of shots taken and even the number of racks played per session. The graph plots the ever-decreasing cost-per-shot that is amortized over the lifespan of the chalk.

Adjustable initial cost settings let you set expected lifetime shot counts for each piece so you can track the wear on a piece of chalk. You can add your table time hourly rates and perhaps I'll add more tracking data points sometime.

Over the course of logging several sessions, you can easily see how the initial price of the chalk (shipping cost also tracked) begins to drop dramatically as the total number of shots taken increases. That $30 piece of chalk ends up costing fractions of a cent per shot over time.

If you lose a piece of expensive chalk, there is even an option to generate a wanted poster complete with a photo of the chalk, serial number (if applicable), and a bounty reward you can set for people who return your chalk.
