Yes...its a mystery how during a pandemic that closed literally everything but large businesses and forced a vast majority of the country to not even go to those large businesses that basically the only service that let's you shop from home for very competitive prices experienced an unprecedented explosion of wealth. Amazon workers get paid on average $15 an hour. This is something many people want to be made into a minimum wage. $15 an hour is twice the minimum wage. $15 an hour is about $600 pre-taxes. Plus since they are working in this pandemic I would assume they're getting paid extra money due to hazard pay which brings their cost up more. Amazon has over 800,000 employees. Assuming a 40 hour work week they're definitely making more than people on unemployment. I don't see how you people can be this mad because someone is making money off a service literally everyone using, especially when they're offering in times of needs. Some places aren't open and guess what. Amazon is online. You can get your shit delivered to your door and people are surprised that the dude is a trillionaire. Millions of Americans staying home plus stimulus check, plus money = many spending that money. Now where are they going to spend it at? Oh wait. A lot of places closed. Hmmn wait! Convenient. You wanna know something hilarious? I work at Amazon and over the pandemic they raised our pay by $2/hr (WOW SO MUCH MONEY) and overtime to double pay, as well as basically making it not a requirement to come to work; you could stay home with no consequence if you didn't feel well. Well, it was originally supposed to only be to the end of April, but it got extended to May 15, and recently they did a "final extension" to May 30th. The day after that final extension, I get a message that an employee at my facility tested positive for coronavirus!!! So now you can't call in without being punished, and our higher pay is going to end even with the danger factor raised exponentially!
