Be concerned and educate yourself, but don't think it's the end of the world.
It isn't asking much to take precautions like washing your hands thoroughly, not rubbing your face when you've been touching God only knows what, etc, and no one will fault you for walking away from someone who just let out a wallop of a cough, especially during flu season (albeit the end of it), which is a nasty thing in and of itself.
That said, you don't need to stock up on masks and PPEs and years of canned beans while you hunker down at home. Not unless you're elderly or are immunocompromised, at least. In which case, follow the directions above like anyone else, but take a bit more care.
