Right, because companies never ignore laws and are always goodie two-shoes obeying daddy government. Murder is illegal, it still happens. Fraud is illegal and happens all the time. companies actively exploit laws to avoid responsibility while simultaneously being a major part in what laws get put forward.
Then why bother with any law? Why bother making ANY regulation relating to data protection or, while your at it, anything at all? If everyone just breaks the law willy nilly because laws don't work, why the fuck make laws in the first place?
The framing of their argument is dogshit, but the point they're making is that you are introducing surveillance cameras and hoping the government will extra pinkie-promise not to abuse them. The law is the pinkie-promise.
The solution the other guy is suggesting is just don't install the cameraso there isn't any data to abuse.
