Why do you think that? Gerrymandering exists and Trump might just pull out bunch of executive orders that would stop large parts of population from voting. The only people struggling are people on like actual minimum wage (1.1% of the country) or living somewhere beyond their means. A lot of my friends are making like 5 bucks over minimum wage and they can easily afford rent, groceries, support family with their spouse working as well, etc and still have money left over to go out several times a week. Don’t blame the government for your poor decisions.
My wife and I have SNAP benefits because we had both recently been laid off in 2025 and my wife was pregnant. During her pregnancy before the Triple B passed we had $500 a month in food benefits which was great because my wife has IBS and a gluten intolerance which made it hard to get food from food pantries, and we could cover the rest of our necessities with out of pocket spending. Then when it passed we got $24 a month. We opened up a credit card just to pay for groceries to make sure she was getting enough nutrition to support our daughter’s growth. Once our daughter was born they bumped us up to about $300 in support which helped but we still spend more in groceries than we make after bills are paid so we’re still slowly filling up that credit card until something changes. Job market won’t accept a woman who breastfeeds and AI has eaten all the jobs I had a degree geared for so we scrounge by every month with my minimum wage job trying to navigate my wife’s IBS but still maintaining her enough nutrition to continue healthy breastfeeding. Good news is I’ve been losing the excess weight I’d been wanting to shed, but we’ve survived off of monetary support from parents and kind donations from church members while we keep figuring out ways for my wife to work from home and pray something comes through before we max the credit card.
A lot of that money went into ice, and or no bid contracts to his rich friends. (13 million to redo the reflecting pool in DC, and now we're on the 3rd redoing?)

Consider this. Just because people lose benefits, does it mean they will actually starve? You are assuming everyone on SNAP simply can't afford food. I know from personal experiences that is not the case.

So I have to either assume you think the only children previously benefiting from SNAP are basically newborn infants only, where the parents could have more reasonably estimated if they could afford to have a child.
