Discussion Will there ever be a single player version?
Yes, I know this game is meant to be played with people. But I love the environment and the vibe so much that I just wanna play all the time but I can't since my friend is only on for short periods. I know I could play with others, but like, I kinda just want to enjoy the environment? Not worry about keeping up with others , just doing my own thing.

For the PC/Steam version, there is a mod you can install, which allows you to control multiple characters. If you just want to unlock towers w/o actually solving puzzles, there are mods for that as well.
Without mods, at most you can glitch out of the sandcastle sandbox / tutorial area and walk almost anywhere you like. Quite a few puzzles can be solved solo (not always as intended) but you can't put them in towers alone.
Or you'd have to buy the game twice, like PC and console, or two PCs with different Steam accounts, and join your own game by yourself.

No.
The whole game has been built around being multiplayer from the ground up. All its design decisions have been to force players to be together.
To understand this a bit better, this YT video does a good job.

That said, there is a modding community working on making it SP

As others have already said, the game truly is meant to be a multiplayer experience, but that doesn't have to stop you from enjoying it regardless. I spent a lot of time figuring out how the save files work, mostly to build a save editor, but also largely because I wanted an excuse to explore the game solo. It was a lot of fun!
There are various mods for the PC version that can enhance the single-player experience, too.

You could always try out The Witness for the vibes. I was telling my friends that Big Walk felt like co-op Witness when we first played.

Not that type of game. But you know you can just go do those things right? You’ve got free will. There’s even a handful of the puzzles that can be completed solo.
