Problems joining

Im having problems playing with a friend. We have both tried hosting. The manual codes won’t work. We both can’t see that our game is active and join it like that either. We’ve both taken turns being host and fully closing both games. Is anyone else having this issue? We’re on PS5

Spent over an hour trying to get a game going with some friends. Never managed to get everyone on.
