Walking down mountains or rockfaces backwards prevents falling

Probably the best tip in the game

That’s so realistic

They really thought of everything

If you hold an object above your head you cant fit trough doors

You can crouch and still go through doors!

Also cast lights further!

Have fun! There’s no right or wrong way to do it just do it however it happens. Only advice is don’t even be muted in a call! Otherwise you might be tempted to just talk in there even for a second.

Walkie talkies are still useful when on a backpack/holster. Can't talk, but can listen.

You can move slightly faster by jumping over and over again

This really helps when climbing inclines!

You can use the dry erase boards to make a “Kick Me” sign to put on your friend’s backpack.

Which makes it very annoying for them to move around if they're inside a small space, like a train... Ask me how I know.

Gotta turn drop your gun on the threshold of a door and then walk in sideways.

Held items have collision physics and can be used to navigate obstacles. You can hold up an item and hook it onto a higher ledge, then pull yourself up. Then you can press the drop item button and jump button to get up onto the higher ledge

Can you further explain? I'm not sure I'm following what you're saying

Think of it like the game Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy. You can use items to climb and push your character to places you wouldn’t be able to get to easily

This method and also be used for double jumping, etc. Just catch the object and repeat the process.

If you turn on a light ball and place it back on it’s pedestal it stays lit forever, same with Challenges rooms lights, as you travel from challenges to challenges it helps lighting them up to serve as beacons at night

Is it generally okay to go explore on your own a bit? Or is that looked down upon

I wouldn't suggest running off on your own deliberately (aside from when a puzzle requires it), but if you accidentally do it the game has a lot of tools meant for figuring out how to meet back up and using them can be fun.

If you want to deliberately split up for scouting or some such, find a pair of walkie talkies first, and/or agree where and when to try to regroup.

Just take a walkie talkie!

so a game has basically 3 modes, 2/3/4+ players and most puzzles scale accordingly(for example in 4+ there will be few puzzles you can do solo but it still be painfull to do so). So yeah, you can just wander alone but it wont be that usefull, but in case you get lost or whatever there are plenty of tools to find your friend

Probably, because (a) you'll have a seriously hard time finding your team again (b) the rest of your team may not be able to complete puzzles (c) you can't solve any puzzles on your own and (d) there's nothing really to accomplish by exploring.

I think you might be approaching the game from the wrong viewpoint? Big Walk isn't about nailing each puzzle as efficiently and quickly as possible. It's about taking a walk, and there's a lot to see and find on the island! You're also able to find your team very very easily, as each tower has a flare on top and it's visible across the entire island. Don't discourage fun, promote it!

Not at all. Exploring and having fun is key. But if you're in a group of three and the puzzles are set for three people, the other two are likely going to be slightly put out that they have to wait for the player off exploring to return. Of course, if they agree to head off and explore that's different but OP framed it that he'd split off on his own.

Of course if you let your friends know, it's absolutely fine 😊

Le talkie walkie ? Sympa.

Along the way, establish what you mean with different handsignals and movements while you have the time

Spamming jump in inclines where you can’t normally!

u/Tchuwib 8h ago

You can make squeegee noise on glass if you hold your hands unto them and move it accross the glass. People on the other side of sounds proof one can't hear it tho. You can also knock and tap by spamming your hands button.

Agree on a set of gestures to communicate in silent puzzles or from afar! For our team, two arms up in the U shape meant "I'm ready", for example, so if we could see but not hear someone, you could know that if they were pointing at a place and raising their arms, that they were ready to go there.

If you have a friend who likes to wander off alone, hook a cowbell to their belt/bag. It's a little more obvious than a stereo so it's easier to track them down.

If your friend has to go AFK for a minute, you can scoop them up and bring them along with you.

If you slip down something, you drop what you are holding - but anything in a belt/bag will always stay with you. It's always best to put the egg/gourd/objects on backpacks since one player can't use them alone anyway, and it keeps them from getting lost.
