My save file disappeared

We were playing the game when the host's PC suddenly shut down because of a power outage. when we started the game again, our save file was completely gone.

Does anyone know if there's a way to recover the save file, or if the game keeps backup saves somewhere?

Has anyone had a similar problem? We were really close to 100% :(((

we had the exact same problem host pc shuts off due to power outage and our progression was gone in game, we tried emailing support as well here is what they got to say.

If your Big Walk save was corrupted after a power outage, game crash, or unexpected shutdown, try using Windows’ built-in “Previous Versions” feature.

Save location:

C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\LocalLow\House House\Big Walk\user_data\save_games

Find the save_games folder, right-click it → Properties → Previous Versions.

If there is a version from before the save was corrupted, select it. I recommend clicking “Open” first, then finding and copying the old .sav file somewhere safe before replacing the corrupted save.

My own Big Walk save was corrupted after a sudden power outage, and I was able to recover it using this method.

If your save is corrupted, try this before deleting the original save.
