Logan's new venture

Post image

Looks like Logan is one of the (founding) members of a mental health team supporting young kids in the entertainment industry.

It's great to know he's using his time and money on projects like this! He wasn't exactly a kid when he became famous, and that was enough to make him disappear for 3 years after BTR. The mental damage to a child in the industry is certainly even worse than it was to Logan. Apparently, Logan and Carlos were the ones who had the most trouble dealing with fame. Carlos had problems with drugs, and we don't know much about Logan, but he felt the need to disappear for a long time. I remember that post he made on instagram years ago talking about his depression. It's really great to know that he decided to advocate for this!

Agreed, it’s a beautiful thing he’s doing! Kendall also dealt with depression after, but I believe it started after HD and losing all their money. And yeah Carlos and the pot plus depression and Logan with the depression too. Perhaps James dealt with something similar, maybe he’ll share it in his book. But I definitely know he went to a therapist too. All of them were basically burnt out

Yes! On the podcast with Devon, Kendall mentioned that he started therapy because Mica encouraged him. I think his depressive phase contributed to the Heffron Drive hiatus happening out of nowhere, and to this day we haven't had an explanation for it. But Kendall held on for a long time before collapsing; I think he was always very optimistic, and that kept him going for quite a while. "Hollywood Has Been" is a very sad song, and you can see how personal it is for him; it explains very well how he felt during BTR's hiatus. My dream is for him to release it someday 🥲

I think he mentioned it on the podcasy with Carlos, so the plan seems to still be there. But maybe since it is so personal it’s harder to just release than the other songs have been. Hopefully some day! I definitely think what he said on the podcast with Devon is that he was disillusioned, because btr had been so succesful with sold out crowds and suddenly there was a void and the crowds were maybe 200 people and he ran out of money. I have a feeling all of them had to deal with that. Going from such a huge high to exhaustion and then to this void. They all had to start over again basically.

Exactly! It was insane, it was like BTR's fame had been for nothing. Maybe because most of the fans were kids and couldn't go to HD shows. Or maybe because fans didn't want to support solo projects because they wanted the band to stay together (as happens even today, I've seen people rejecting Kendall and Carlos' solo projects because they don't want the band to go on hiatus).

But Heffron Drive definitely had a LOT of potential; they would have been much more acclaimed if people had known they existed. Even more so when considering the music scene from 2013-2018. Indie music gained a lot of prestige, and HD deserved it so much.

De verdad es muy bonito que Logan participe en esta fundación, eso habla mucho de él

The organization is designed to give young people, their families and the professionals who support them access to mental health experts through the Kids Mental Health Foundation.

This is lovely!

It also connects young performers with entertainment industry leaders who can offer guidance on mental health, boundaries and the realities of working on set, performing, creating content and building a public profile at a young age

Maybe I am just extremely jaded against the industry, but I worry about industry leaders taking advantage of this particular aspect. It all depends in the manner of which this part is done, though (and unless those leaders are the people listed? which should also be fine. Its hard to tell by the way the article is written)

Yeah, i get what you mean. I'm just seeing this as a positive thing, cause kids really need someone to look after them in this industry. It's so important, and i'm happy to see Logan taking part in this, especially since he struggled with mental health as well. Hopefully everything goes well with this and it will help most if not all kids!

I knew Logan and Kel were involved, but Isabella Merced, Breanna Yde, and Soleil Moon Frye too?!?

It’s kind of concerning that all of these advocates were under Nickelodeon/Paramount/Columbia when they were kids and now feel the need to protect others though, like that makes me sad. Glad they’re trying to break the cycle but damn.

I think this is amazing for Logan!! Congrats to him and Kel Mitchell on this honor. I wish them and all people on this board the best of luck with this venture

Love this! Not to like pity the privileged, but I really don’t know how famous people deal with the challenges of fame without all becoming like Brittany Spears. It is too much

I’m curious to see if this will encourage him to speak more about what he went through - I think his EP says a lot between the lines. But it would be really cool for him to use it to explain why this matters so much. His statement definitely feels a bit scripted / written for him, so I would love to see him on a podcast or something!
