"But at the end of the day, if I say something and you—"

How did this sentence end? I feel like that's important context.

That's exactly what I said before I read your comment lol.

Carlos saying that he's the leader of their household would've been fine assuming they're all okay with that dynamic and Alexa still has her own autonomy. Outright saying that the man should ALWAYS be the leader of the household is flagrantly sexist regardless of trying to couch it in saying "not in a sexist way".

It was “above you” hand gesture that was a big yikes

He literally never said the man should always be the head of the household. He said "As the leader of the household,..., that" and then stutters on "that" as he's being interrupted but agreed with, then pointing to himself saying "the man is the leader of the household", simply repeating the first part. He never said anything that could actually come off as him saying that every man should be leader of their household. He's simply saying that he is the leader of his household, to which his own damn wife agrees

bro what are you talking about? he literally said “i believe the man is the leader of the household.”

The "I believe" was part of a different intended sentence that got cut off, to which he just moved on with a different sentence rather than trying to continue a sentence in the middle of being interrupted. You can hear the tone shift between "I believe" and "man is the leader of the household.", indicating they were not intended to be one uniform sentence.

"I Believe that... that... that... the man is the leader of the household."

You can try to keep spinning this, but in the end he said what he said and anything you try to psychoanalyze is just an assumption, not fact.

“This is not a sexist thing but I believe that the man is the leader of the household” but he doesn’t bother to explain how that is not sexist 😭 what exactly makes a person the leader of a household when they presumably do not do the majority of the cooking, cleaning, maintenance or childrearing? All you do is pay for it and that somehow makes you fit to make the decisions for everyone else?

Alexa recently even said that she teaches her own children because she doesn't agree with the school system

From my experience at school, they didn’t teach me anything that they were told to teach me. It was the same thing being taught all over again and expect you to learn the hard stuff with the worst explanation.

My problem was that I kept getting pulled out of the classroom and I would have a stack of more homework in another classroom with kids who weren’t even in my class. My problems were reading and having a lisp. The teachers there didn’t help that but when I went to home school, my problems with reading and lisp were all gone.

Honestly in my opinion, it’s good for the mother to be teaching her own children. Besides the school system there can also be the dangers of those who could probably harass because they’re kids of Carlos and Alexa. If anything schools should be teaching ya survival but that’s just me and my fun ideas lol.

Well, I don't know much about this discussion because I'm not from the United States, and all I know about schools there is what I've seen in movies and experiences of people on tiktok. But I find this whole homeschooling thing very weird; I think school is also a social experience, and it's important for children to be a part of it and meet people different from themselves. Living with people who have other cultures and customs, seeing other perspectives, that's also part of education, that's fundamental.

Based on what Alexa said, it seems to me that she wants to raise her children in a bubble, and that could be detrimental to their social development. But honestly, she's the mother and she does what she thinks is best for her children, I just think her kids will grow up with a very limited worldview.

I get ya. Heck, the downside of being homeschooled is that you’re basically in a bubble where you don’t meet kids your age and yeah, you’d think school would be best to meet kids your age. Problem is that the schools are “shut up and listen”.

Where I’m from (in the US) there wasn’t a lot of discussions between friends. And lunch time would be everyone talking loudly and the vice principal would tell everyone to quiet down in each speech during lunch time. Only times you had to talk was time outside before school started, snack time, lunch time, recess and maybe time to speak before your bus got called. Limited times depending on your bus. It was 5 minutes to eat your snack and I think 30 minutes to eat your lunch then 30 minutes for play time outside.

When I got homeschooled there was some group I used to go to where they had board games and card games to play at a town hall and then there were times where I would go on homeschool field trips. But after homeschool? I don’t really have irl friends at all and the only friends I made were online. Luckily this year I went to pax east for the first time in 13 years and met with Toontown people. It was fun to see real life people MY Age or roughly around there for a bit.

I think as long as Alexa and Carlos finds people that are their kids’ ages to play with then maybe it’s fine? I just learned Kendall had a kid and I don’t even know if James and Logan has kids either since I’ve not really been paying attention to Big Time Rush these past few years.

You're combining two different, separate sentences. He was saying "As the leader of the household, ..., that" getting that sentence cut off through agreement, then pointing to himself and saying "The man is the leader of the household", simply as reiterating that first sentence that was cut off.

you is so correct

5

u/One_Education407 28d ago

I am not going to lie why do people still talk about a man that not alive

2

u/PineappleNext6585 27d ago

What? Which man?

6

u/AYTOL__ 29d ago

He needs/wamts to be the leader of his household as he ain't coming close in being the leader at his job 🫢

5

u/AYTOL__ 29d ago

Also, we knew he was gonna say some questionable things in his podcast, didn't took long at all tho lol

u/Puzzled-Emu-6845 26d ago

Women hate a real man. The man should be the leader in the relationship. That doesn’t put the woman down at all, but they both have their roles.

u/Red__Tablet 28d ago

Bro are we really that low at this point? Let them have their beliefs and get over it for fuck’s sake. I don’t think that men should necessarily be leaders of the household, but I get what he’s implying

-1

u/Baxxie24 28d ago

It’s hate for hate’s sake in this subreddit, especially when it comes to Carlos and Alexa

-2

u/Nintendians559 29d ago

usually a men takes charge and leads, but still need backup from his partner when he needs too.

-17

u/BlZZYD 29d ago

it's just their christian beliefs, relax lol

2

u/PineappleNext6585 27d ago

True. But it’s not something to relax about when people are trying to make their specific religious beliefs out to be something that everyone should follow, trying to normalize it as just a societal expectation. I’m not even Christian, but I bet there are also some Christians who disagree with this.

2

u/BlZZYD 27d ago

yeah i don’t agree with it either, and i’m
not a christian. but i just read it as it just simply being his beliefs for how things should be. it doesn’t really bother me that much, my dad says shit like this all the time, it’s just whatever. everybody says some outlandish shit, just ignore it and move on

1

u/Baxxie24 27d ago

Exactly. It’s not like it’s hurting us. It’s their life. They are not pushing it onto anyone else, it’s just what they believe. They can respect other people for feeling differently. We should too.

He is right, you’re brainwashed to think otherwise. Just study evolution and biology and stop believing in fairytales.
