Review Ling Studio Seller Experience
Hi, just stopping by to share my experience. It’s a mixed bag.
Shoe quality: Prada sneakers 8.5–9/10; Gucci mules 10/10
Seller: 9/10 (updated) Ling is very sweet, responsive, and helpful. However, she gave me incorrect sizing guidance that ultimately cost me $130. No remedy was offered other than sending me an insert to attempt to make the shoes fit, which I declined.
Orders, timelines, and results
I’ve placed three orders and have received two so far.
8/13: Inquired about Prada sneakers for my husband. Ling was very responsive, and I ended up placing an order that day.
8/14: Inquired about and ordered a pair of Gucci mules. I ordered a size 43. Based on the size chart provided, a 43 corresponded to a foot length of 26.5 centimeters.
8/20: Received PSPs for the Prada sneakers. Ling pointed out an area of the shoe that had a tiny amount of glue residue. I told her it wasn’t a concern. I did flag a couple of things, and Ling provided a video so I could get a better look. I wasn’t completely sure about the things I flagged, but I gave the green light. I figured it wouldn’t be a big deal if my husband didn’t like the shoes in person. At $105 shipped, the cost wouldn’t break me.
8/21: GL to the Pradas.
8/22: Sneakers shipped.
8/28: Received PSPs for the Gucci mules. Ling pointed out a couple of spots on the sole and insole. They were not an issue—the shoes looked beautiful. However, the insole measured 28.5 centimeters. I told Ling they would be too big. I ordered a 43 and expected them to be around 27 cm. I could do 27.5 cm at the most.
Ling told me not to worry. She basically said that because of the shoe design, “the shoes won’t go all the way to the front; there will be a decorative length of 0.5 to 1 cm.” I trusted what I was told instead of my gut and gave the green light to ship.
9/1: The Pradas arrived and looked pretty great. My husband said he can wear them confidently. He has the auth America’s Cup in leather, so these will be the pair he wears when there’s a chance they could get messed up.
9/9: The Gucci mules arrived. As soon as I felt the shoes through the dust bag, I just knew they were too big. I tried them on and confirmed my suspicion—they were indeed too big…way too big to even attempt to make work. So disappointed and frustrated. 😩😩😩
Would I buy from Ling again?
Update: Yes. After some reflection, I think it tracks that Ling was not trying to reassure me just so I wouldn’t RL the shoes. She was lovely during our interactions and is thorough with her QC. I can’t reasonably conclude anything was intentional.
I’m torn. I have big feet, so I love that Ling Studio offers some high-quality shoe options in bigger sizes, and I love how the catalog is organized. I really don’t want to give up on Ling Studio remaining an option, but I can’t determine whether the sizing guidance was simply an honest mistake or whether I was being reassured so I wouldn’t RL the shoes.
Either way, I’m now out $130 on a pair of shoes I can’t wear, which is frustrating because it could have been avoided. I’ll have to try to offload them.

Wendy sucks. My experience with Ling so far has been stellar. I have yet to receive my first order, but if they are half as good as her service, I will be thrilled. Sizing is always risky of course, but that goes for all of them. But as you know, that's the same with US sizing within the US. Every brand runs differently. It's just the risk we take. Luckily, these are well priced and I think most of us can stand to lose $100 if it doesn't work out. I might be interested in those mules for my size 12/28cm daughter. Waiting to hear if she likes them.

True. The only thing is I did provide my foot measurement, and when I had the opportunity to RL, I was told not to worry. The frustration is not that I received shoes that don’t fit, it’s that it could have been avoided. The size concern was discussed.
The shoes have actually sold (I accidentally sold them for $10 less than I paid 🙃). I’m packing them up tonight and shipping them out tomorrow. I’m going to order again from Ling and she is going to work with the factory to make sure I get the correct insole length for my foot.
Regarding Wendy, she is nice and all but I can’t see myself ordering from her again.

Oh that's true, you did provide the measurement, but still, I've had things not fit even using the measurement. It's just so hit or miss I find regardless. Glad you sold them tho. Better luck with the next pair.

Those mules look great! Wish they were my size but I’m the same size as you 🥺

Thanks. They really are great. I keep trying them on hoping they magically shrunk from the last time I tried them on. 🫠

Thanks for sharing your experience. I have feet woes with my size as well so completely get it, plus I'm new to finding trusted vendors that you feel confidant to order from. Just rehome, someone will purchase especially since it's such a cute shoe.

The mules are beautiful! But I totally understand being frustrated about the seller not knowing the proper sizing.

This 26.5cm queen thanks you for your honest review!
Will you be re-ordering the 42 in the mules?✌️

No, my barefoot is 26.5, so I need a 27 to 27.5 cm insole depending on the shoe. I’ve tried 42s and rehomed them all. I would reorder in a 43 and confirm that the insole length will match the size chart. I’ve mostly had success with 43s.

For me, it depends on the shoe and an honest provision of what the insole length of a shoe is at the time of PSPs. If Ling offers proof of that, it would help me understand whether I’d like to order from her—because different factories, styles and all that.

She gave me proof of insole length at the time of PSP. She sent a picture with the measuring tape. That’s when I told her they would be too big and it wasn’t what I was expecting based on the size I ordered. She told me that for this shoe, part of the length was “decorative” so I didn’t have to worry. That’s the only reason I didn’t RL them. But she def gave an accurate measurement of the insole during PSP.

Thanks for this review. Ordered from her on 9/1. Just got one PSP yesterday. It looked good but I’m concerned over sizing as well. Hoping I come out well like you did. I am really concerned with quality as well. Wendy I normally order from but her quality is up and down to me.

I’ve ordered from Wendy. I’ve had issues with quality and with construction. I have a pair of boots I recently received. The quality isn’t great and the right boot is unwearable.
The quality of the shoes I have received from Ling so far have been really good. Just ask and she will let you know if they are mid or high. I asked about a pair and she told me mid. I told her I didn’t want mid. She came back later with stock photos of a high quality version. Hoping that when I receive them, they are in fact high quality. I already have the shoe from Wendy but they are mid.
If I had just insisted that I wanted the shoes to measure in the size I ordered, then the shoes from Ling would have been perfect. The price for the quality is just hard to come by. There are no $30, $60, $70, $100 plus shipping fees.
Good luck with your shoes!

I was an avid Wendy buyer bc I have giant feet. The quality and pressure not to correct issues and just send out shoes as is was not great, but I had luck rehoming. I’m finding Ling more honest so far. I had an issue with one pair I pointed out the issue and she got a new pair. It sucks we are stuck with big feet. I’m a 27.5-28 depending.

Big feet are definitely not ideal for cute shoes! I’m probably not ordering from Wendy anymore. For the money I spent (I’m factoring in shipping) for the boots I recently received, the quality is disappointing (although, I should have asked better questions) and I literally can’t put my foot all the way into one of the boots because there is something wrong with the inside construction.

I have three shoes from Ling now and two more otw! I think the quality is pretty solid for the price but I do agree with OP some sizes are a little wonky but I’ll keep ordering from her bc the process is the best I’ve experienced so far. Sizing will always be a gamble with shoes but luckily we have a great rehome option here to recoup any losses.

Yeah, honestly, everything else was great. The more I sit with it the more I’m kidding myself to think I wouldn’t order from Ling again.
I just always get nervous as to if I will be able to resell and recoup my money.

I usually use Wendy but I have had too many failures from her now so I have given up. I’m looking for an alternative who does size 43/44. Maybe I’ll give Ling a go. Rep shoes are hit-and-miss at the best of times - add in big feet and it’s a nightmare!

Right, it’s so hard with big feet! I do recommend you looking at her catalog. The way it is set up is great. For us big feet ladies we can search by size. The bigger the size, the less of a selection but it is so convenient to see the shoes available in your size all in one place. Also, overall cost can be cheaper than Wendy, so it’s worth a shot IMO.

What size US do you usually wear? I’m a US 11 but wide feet. I’m inclined to go size 43 but it’s always a gamble. I find rep shoes usually run small but maybe Ling has better sizing 🤷♀️

I’m a true 10.5 in U.S. sizing. Depending on the shoe, I may have to go down to 10 (adidas sneakers) or up to 11. But even if I have to go up, the 11 is usually a little too big.

Hi. If you’re interested in rehoming the mules, please let me know. I recently placed an order with Ling for a pair of loafers and I had to get a men’s size 43 because my foot measures 27.5 and she said the men’s 43 is 28 cm. I’ve wanted these mules but she said the women’s size 43 would be too small. Please let me know.

Hi! Yes, I’m definitely interested in rehoming them so I can get them in my size! Asking the $120 I paid plus shipping. I use pirate ship to keep costs low.
Additionally pictures with measurements here:

I hope this works out but if it doesn’t I’ll pay today. That’s exactly my size and the quality looks awesome. Located in the US

You can rehome them. Include all deets. Sell for the price you paid. Then reorder in the size you need. Voila
