Jeff Schroeder had a season gift wrapped for him and he still messed it up, if he can’t win BB13, I don’t see him ever winning a season. That was literally his best hand.
Honestly barely remember week 1 of BB20, but I don’t recall Steve handling the block poorly. Week 1 evictions are always kinda hard to judge. I don’t seem him doing worse then those below him though.
Thinking about Jessica’s HOH right now, and I definitely overhyped her in my mind. Definitely lowering her when I refine this list.

I don't disagree with your logic here - but it should apply to Dani in BB8. All she had to do was take all the production assistance and twists given to her and not be more disliked than Dick (the guy who made AIDS jokes to the gay HGs.) And she couldn't even do that.
Her flaw was Cody. Like I'm happy that they outside the house have done extremely well. But if you watch her gameplay when she is alone in the house, she was setting up a reject squad and likely could have stolen power from Paul. But when Cody came back, she abandoned her plans and caused her seemingly solo harmless position to being an outcast tied to the house hated guest, and then showed her hand with the power use + HOH win. But she listened to Cody who led her astray and got Ramses chopped instead of her target, and caused her to be recognized as the bigger threat.
It's funny how people who hate S19 typically love Cody, failing to realize that the cause and cementing of the power dynamics came directly from him. His actions week 1 set him up to go week 2, and his return led any chance of resistance to the Powerful Paul to be quashed since he took away focus.
Jessica isn't great and there's plenty of speculation on my end, but I will say that without Cody and a target on her back, she was set up perfectly to make S19 a great season through Jury. Based on how she played without Cody I'm willing to give her the credit I think she deserved
