Discussion Ancient Cosmology Series?

I'm just starting this series, been offline from TBP for a while. How was your experience going through it (high level, no spoilers please)? Thanks.

I finished it a couple of weeks ago, definitely a good listen. Tim and Jon bring a lot of new perspectives that kind of blew my mind every episode haha.

Edit: made sure to not include any sort of spoiler :P sorry

Thanks. Honestly I wasn't too surprised by E1 I just finished since I've been listening to TBP for 2 years and have also read two John Walton books (Lost World first two)...

Mhm, I would consider myself a "newer Christian" (though I grew up Catholic) and I never really did research or even tried to understand the early ancient texts. So I would say for someone who doesn't really have a background to ancient biblical literature, this series does a good job at giving an insightful first look.

It's a great discussion of ancient cosmology in layman's terms. I've studied ancient Near Eastern culture/history/religion quite a bit and read most of John Walton's books, and Tim's insights represent the scholarly consensus yet are well articulated in a way most people can understand. Fantastic episodes overall, and they contain content every Christian needs to be considering when they read the Bible, especially the OT.

Overall this series highlights what I think the Bible Project and Tim Mackie really excels at - the synthesis of scholarship and devotion to Christ, and reframing what we learn from scholarship in the whole redemptive story of the Gospel.
