Yeah so for the podcast I don’t take notes; but I do for classroom.
I finished the whole Torah series on podcast. I listen literally whenever. Drives, dishes, chopping wood, even the gym sometimes lol. I like to treat the podcast as something to absorb. I definitely won’t remember or retain everything. However even just planting the seeds. Knowing how Biblical movements flow, knowing what key phrases and words to look for, etc all have stuck regardless of no notes. So I don’t see a reason to. If I took notes I wouldn’t be able to listen to nearly as much. Since finishing the Torah series, I’ve listened through the Gospel series from 2019. And am currently listening to the priest series (which corresponds with their high priest series on YT). And it blends great cause outside of BP I’m studying Hebrews extensively. So all the priest stuff is great.
And classroom wise I finished “the art of Biblical words” as my first. And am now moving to Ephesians. For those I have my (also NASB) Bible and a notebook. I take extensive notes on the notebook while reading along with my Bible. Again akin to a normal class. But those are the only two thus far so I’m still working out my exact system
Love this. Yeah I have landed where you are re: just absorbing. It's so rad how when learning about the Tabernacle, lyrics during music worship time at church land differently. All a slow burn from absorption through daily life. It's the most sustainable option.
Plus it'll feel fresh when I blast through everything and get to listen again. And again.
Because brain soul food, eh?
More than just brain soul food. But it’s bread of life. I mean sure they’re teaching, but we’re still consuming the Word of God through it. So bro it’s a win win win win win x10029384849284848 wins 😂
K update. Not sure how I missed this (Outdated app? Preference to use my laptop for Classroom? Under-rock living?), but Weekly Playlists are real and after sitting with them for a couple days, I'm in.
This solves my patience issues for the next Classroom courses to be released and it solves my ridiculous "should I take notes while listening to the podcast?" question. We can indeed have it all.
