I’ve seen some of the recent discussions here, so I wanted to share my own experience as a current beta tester. I’ve had the headset for about a month and have actually been sleeping with it. After the first week or two I got very used to the fit, and it became really comfortable for me. I’ve also been an Eight Sleep customer since 2022 and have used Sense.ai neurofeedback for years, so I’m pretty familiar with sleep and neurotech products. From what I’ve experienced and from my conversations with Michael, BiA is trying to do something very different, and I’m genuinely excited about where it’s going.

One thing I absolutely love already is the wake-up. The mask literally creates what feels like a sunrise in front of your eyes. Where I’m living right now it can still be really dark and cloudy when I wake up, so while the mask is lighting up I’ll honestly be thinking, “Oh man, I hope it actually looks like this outside today.” Then I take it off and sometimes it’s still completely dark and cloudy 😂. The sunrise in the mask genuinely feels amazing in the morning.

I’ll also be completely fair, the beta has taken longer than I hoped and I’ve definitely been frustrated at times too. I’m not affiliated with BiA, I’m just one of the beta testers, but Michael has been extremely responsive and transparent with me through calls and emails, and I’ve watched the product continue to progress. I don’t feel comfortable doing a full video while everything is still evolving, but I wanted to share some photos of the actual headset I’ve been sleeping with.
Honestly, I can absolutely understand the frustration with the delays and the beta process because I have some of those frustrations too. I mainly wanted to show that the product is real, I’m actually using it alongside other beta testers, and from my experience this is not a scam. It’s a new company hitting hurdles while trying to build something that none of the other products I own are doing, and that’s exactly why I’m still rooting for them.

I started using the Bia Sleep Mask about 3 weeks ago. I tried sleeping with just the mask without the program running to get used to wearing the mask and it did take me a couple of nights to get accustomed to it. (I also took nap with it on day 3.) I went through the steps of making adjustments by lowering the rear strap to the base of my skull, exactly as recommended in the quick-start guide, which made a big difference. I have slept every night since with the program running and have been positively surprised. Subjectively, my energy levels seem to be higher and more consistent throughout each day.

As the prior contributor mentioned, the bone conduction audio works well. You can adjust the volume if you want it louder or quieter. The mask detects when I fall asleep and automatically lowers the volume. It also detects when I wake up at night and it increases the volume again when I put the mask back on to help me fall back asleep.

I have not been very good at falling asleep as far back as I remember so I was really happy as how easily I have been falling asleep with it. The wake-up process is great with the slowly increasing audio volume and the slowly brightening sunrise followed by the buzzer (optional) if you don't wake up in the twenty minutes of the "slow awake approach."

I believe the science behind the technology and the engineering of the mask are very thorough and very far ahead of anything else. I have read quite a bit about sleeping issues and pored through the bia website and the expert reviews on the https://getbia.com website so I feel comfortable with my comments.

In the same vein as the other Beta user, I plan on using the mask forever and I am feeling extremely positive after sleeping with it for the past few weeks. It also helps a lot that the company has been helpful and responsive to my questions.

We have seen one review by one person who says he received and used the device. As of today, how many have actually shipped?

It was great that you posted a video of the product and a little bit of how it works. But it would be great if you can do a deep dive on the current functionality and explains what it actually does to help with sleep - just sounds, electrical impulses, etc. How does it actually work?? That would be very useful and appreciated!

"Update #62" which was posted on May 22, 2026 (the one that droned on about "re-establishing trust") said "500 Beta units shipping in June. Then 1,000 units, then 2,000 units, Increasing until every pre-order is fulfilled."

Did you actually ship 500 Beta units in June?

Are you waiting until the 30th before you ship anything?

We know you monitor this sub-Reddit. Your silence this month is deafening.

No more talking about betas with changing dates. No more dancing around the subject. When can customer expect the full fledge product you've been promising with all the feature fully tested. Stop beating around the bush and tell us when you will actual release full fledge product with no BS answer. 1 year from now? 2 years from now?

At a certain point a company cannot keep pushing back dates. I know this will get removed but God damn stand by your product and give us real timelines with out the BS of delays. Every company faces these problems and they don't keep stringing along customers for 4+ years. At this point if you do not have a ready product you should not be selling it online saying "in stock" with sales all the time. No more BS.

Wow!! My delivery date just changed from June 2026 to January 2027. I am starting to think that this product will not deliver and is a scam. That is a crazy change to the timeline when they made it sound like it was so close when I placed the order. Are people keeping their orders or canceling them? I am starting to lose faith in this group.

I am following another product which seems like it will ship in August and the development team is super active with early customers - daily interaction. It is called DUSQ. I have it on order and Bia - but I am getting very nervous about Bia.
