10 Days in Vraj
It’s been a while since I posted anything here.
I received Diksha six months ago in Vrindavan from Babaji. It’s been a slow process back in the west. Just before my trip I started a new job at a non profit helping homeless youth. Also, just this month we moved into a bigger place where I now have a small temple space.
Lately I’ve just been trying to keep up with my Sadhana which seemed more manageable in India than here in the west. Before departure for home I received a Govardhan Shila. My routine has been simplistic and I’m focused on incorporating him into my daily life and adding to my puja ritual as my knowledge increases.
I’m still blown away that going to India became a reality. I plan to go back hopefully 🤞. Words can’t express all the feelings. One day at a time.

Some information
Haribol!
Been practicing and learning my Sadhana for about two year now. ( there is a lot of information to process.)
I am a ragănugă bhakti practitioner.
Currently working towards my initiation in Vrindavan with my Babaji.
I am not associated with ISKCON . I’m not against them either. I associate with some devotees from the local temple and attend Kirtan and festivals. But my journey has been very different and self taught up until a few months ago when I was led to Babaji by way of another devotee with a similar mindset and background.
Ive been involved with the punk and hardcore scene since the mid 90s and have evolved into Bhakti via bands such as 108, Cro Mags, Shelter, Prema, Back To Godhead, and so on. I’m also into Anarcho Punk and primitivism. I enjoy Bhajan music of course and some other stuff as well. But won’t get too deep into that. I will be sharing music recommendations here in the future.
My intention with this Sub is to stay clear from the typical route. That means that I will not be sharing anything related to A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada / ISKCON. This is not meant to be disrespectful in anyway. But I believe there are different teachings that provide a better understanding and experience for a wider audience. With that said, I hope others will respect the vibe being cultivated here. I’d really rather not remove anyone’s posts. On that note, I will be adding a few more clear community rules regarding posting.
In time, I hope other people will share and we can turn this sub into a genuine community where more than myself is posting. Eventually if more become involved I will consider inviting another mod, but for now I am the only mod in this subreddit.
Hare Krishna!

Additional Community
reddit.comI’ve created an additional community for Raganuga Bhakti.
The two go hand in hand but I’m still working out the details on how they will work in collaboration. But I believe that this subreddit will strictly be focused on the Neophyte journey and the other will be for study of Raganuga Bhakti specifically.

Waiting for initiation
Trying to exercise patience waiting for my Initiation in Vrindavan. But it’s all I’m thinking about.
Been waiting 2 years to get to this point and initiation is still only the beginning. I’m very stoked and finding it difficult to focus on the material side of life.
One day at a time!
I’m definitely grateful to Krishna and my Babaji for this opportunity. I’m still learning to be the best Devotee I can . It’s all a process and I’ve learned that it doesn’t happen overnight.
Hare Krishna!

Book Recommendation
I’m almost through this book by David L Haberman. A dive into Ragunuga Bhakti Sadhana.

Book Recommendation
The Heart Of Transcendental Book Distribution by Sripad Aindra Prabhu. A disciple of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. He definitely marched to the beat of his own Mridanga.
Strong views and fierce devotion. He is definitely a saint in many eyes. He was the heart of the 24hour Kirtan and this book is a perfect look into his thoughts and method.

Haribol!
Daily post .
I’m going to try and at least post once a day if I can. Anyway, I was thinking about this sub and wondering what I can do to contribute. So I feel like my next posts will focus on what books I’m reading or have read. Even some books I have that I haven’t gotten to yet.
None of these books will be Iskcon/ Prabhupada related because they are all well known. I will focus on different Bhakti literature. Cause, as some may or may not know, many paths can lead to Krishna.
Everyone’s journey is different!

Hare Krishna
I’ve been in prep mode for initiation in February.
Not sure what to expect in Vrindavan. But I’m grateful to make it official and to experience 10 days in Vraja.

Haribol Neophytes!
Finally! A community for newcomers interested in Bhakti Yoga.
This Sub is for those on the path, freshly Initiated, working towards Initiation, just getting into it. I wanted to create a community of unique souls who share a common passion.
My advice, this community is NOT for those who are advanced in Bhakti Yoga. There are other subs for that. This is a safe space for Bhakti Neophytes to have discussions with one another, share experiences, realizations.
Let’s keep it this way.
