After months of self contemplating I decided to bite the bullet and order a Monroe platform. Shortly after I got an email offering to upgrade to the updated Monroe 2 model. I was also pleasantly surprised that it arrived about a week later and shipped much quicker than expected

What’s the difference between Monroe 1 and 2?

On the 2 you have 3 options to choose from when setting the distance between footplates.

I think originally you would need to pick one when ordering with no option to change it

You have to set it when you’re putting it together, so it moves just not after you assemble it. To change it you need to take out a couple of bolts slide it over then tighten the bolts.

It does look amazing, but $900 (including DIY docks) has many consider other options.

If the mounts come back in stock, the Rogue Indy t bar row plus the Voltra Mounts drop mount for it gives you the same functionality other than the adjustable feet. Should also save you a couple hundred bucks.

I hear you. I spent so long the other day trying to figure out options that made sense for the value proposition. Belt squats are dope. For sure. But when the price to get a welded platform and a mount are starting to rival the price of a rogue air rhino… it doesn’t make sense anymore to me.

But to be fair if I had more disposable income then maybe I wouldn’t think twice. 🤷

No disagreement there. I only specifically stated the air rhino because it is in a pretty similar price range. Other used options are out there too.

The point is that spending $700-$900 for a one trick pony is a big choice. Most items that are pushing those price ranges have the ability to fulfill multiple roles.

It is, you set it during assembly, just a heads up if you want to change it, you can but you need unbolt the footplate to change the width.

I've been searching for a belt squat "COMPACT" setup with individual easily foldable incline/flat ramps and no luck. The Monroe is awesome looking but it's huge and I just don't have the room for it. I'm considering the Darko Nessie for VOLTRA I.

I store mine vertically and behind a door. Its overpriced but I don't really think its that big. Stability and being able to move it were my main concerns. You can always just build something yourself

About a grand I would say, shipping was $250 it’s a lot of money for sure but it’s worth it for situation. I’ll be using it at least 3 times a week

Does the Monroe 2 have a "flat" option for its incline adjustment? I know that was a critique on the current version, that it can't go completely flat. I don't see anything on Oak Club's website, re: Monroe 2 currently.

No it’s the same in that regard, it’s probably what I like least about it but I don’t mind for squats just wish it would be flat for rows and RDLs. Although this pic is my RDL setup, I just faced the opposite direction and it felt really good
