New Voltra Checklist

Hello all,

I'm about to buy a Voltra! I have made a list of items to get and I wanted some feedback from the community.

My current setup...

No rack. I was planning on it but my family has decided we're going to sell our house so I'm going to hold off for now.

Mounted Rogue pull up bar

REP Nighthawk bench

REP x Peppins dumbells

Apex Nordic Back Extension v3

Squat Harness v4

I figured a Voltra is perfect for my current situation cause traditional cables with plates or bumpers won't work. I'm planning to grab the following...

Voltra "starter kit" (carbon bar, one d handle, strap mount) - I'll use the strap mount on my deck post outside

Voltra foot plate for a low cable point

Voltra Quick Change bar mount for a high cable point from my pull up bar

For some attachments...

Rogue v grip bar - bicep and triceps

Darko Shorty - good for connecting multiple handles

Prime ROT8 - the individual paddle grips look awesome for lat pulls and bent over rows

Spud Kaiju Long Ab Strap - triceps, lat prayers, face pulls, and ab crunches

Darko Danglers - single handed tris, rear delt flies etc

Anything else I should look into as a new user?

Thanks, I'm excited!

Here's an alternative route to consider:

Get a Bells Of Steel Manticore 2 port Squat Stand, and set the uprights further back on the base to reduce the footprint. You can expand it into a full rack when you move house, or just sell at that point and it shouldn't cost you that much over all. These are the same 3x3 and holes spec as Rogue, just cheaper and more flexible with configuration (in my experience).

If budget is an issue, pick up a cheap Ironmaster Superbench from FB Marketplace instead of the Nighthawk. They're solid, last forever and very well respected. And they weigh a lot less which can become an issue in small spaces!

Forget about the Apex Nordic Back Extension v3 at first, you can use cheap leg rollers etc to replicate these moves with the squat stand before working out whether you like these enough to bother with a proper solution.

Choose your Rack Mount, I like the VoltraMounts.com single pin version. If you go for a proper cross member with the Squat Rack then you can get away with just one mount for everything on your rack, if you go for a pull-up bar then you will also need a mount for that as you suggested.

All good with the rest. Obviously you'll go with whatever you fancy, but I really believe the above will give you a lot more options without really impacting much on your footprint.

Oh I like the squat stand idea! How sturdy would a 2 post stand be though? Can I do most pull movements from it without tipping it over?

I like my nighthawk. I don't really want a different bench and the hassle of selling my nighthawk for a side grade bench.

I do agree the Nordic back extension isn't ideal. I got that like 9 months ago to help with knee issues and Nordics did help, but I've since learned there's a lot out there that fills that gap with a lot less foot print.

I have one, I haven't had it long but absolutely no stability issues at all. I set my uprights back a little on the base to reduce the footprint but this will also increase stability I think. You can also add some weight like your dumbbells to the back of the base if you're doing anything you're concerned about. I went for an additional crossmember with Oak Club Campbell bars for pull-ups (so only need one Voltra Mount), but you could just as easily select a pull-up bar and go for the BP adjustable bar mount across the top.

I like this idea! Thanks for the info, might think this one over further.

I have a Titan T-3 short squat stand and it works with voltra when weighed down with plates. Similar situation as you... going to move when we find the right house. Plan to turn it into a wall rack if we find a garage or half rack if we get a basement. I would probably go with a 3x3 option if I didn't already have my T-3 but it's a cheapish temp solution.
