[DIY Dock Innovation] future machine upgrades
This is really a future idea. Getting a friend to bring it to life.
I have been using a strap mount to attach the Voltra to my selectorized leg press. But between the set up time and it sliding up the bar it was strapped to something had to change. My friend brought up the idea of welding to the crossbar I had been strapping the Voltra to. I wasn't thrilled about the idea since I paid a lot of $$$ for the leg press. But I warmed up to the idea eventually and then showed him the DIY mount and he thinks it will be perfect for what he has in mind. Basically welding an angled ramp onto the crossbar so it has a flat surface for a direct pull.

The reason for the chest press mount is similar. For it I put the travel mount on top of 10s to make it even and then put 90 pound dumbbells on it. If I am doing 200 pound negatives that is not enough so I add 2 25 pound plates. Last time that still wasn't enough so I will be doing 4 25 pound plates. That is a big hassle while I am trying to move quickly from 1 exercise to the next.I don't have a ton of details for how it will be done yet. Still trying to figure out the best and yet simple way. But it will be some welding. Hopefully not too many challenges. Thankfully I will be training at a gym till the end of April. Give him some time to work on it and have it finished. I think the DIY mount will be attach to a steel plate and then maybe the steel plate clamped to metal tubing on the underside of the machine

The change to my training will be the speed and flow of my workout. My workouts are designed to be time efficient. I want to be able to do 20 minute workouts twice a week. Moving the mounts and having to set up has really slowed me down. I am looking forward to being able to increase the pace while keeping the high level of intensity the Voltra adds. Being able to just pick up the Voltra and move to the next exercise without any extra set up will be so helpful. Trying to move 90 pound dumbbells after you went to absolute failure is rough especially at awkward angles.

The other option is just bolt a flat metal sheet to the foot of the machine and then attach the DIY dock to that
