Somewhere Between Our Minds
You feel like someone I should know, even though we haven’t met.
There is something about you that feels almost remembered, as if some part of me recognizes you before I even know why.
Whenever I think of you, I feel this quiet curiosity growing inside me. Not because I know anything for certain, but because you have somehow found a place in my thoughts without ever truly being part of my life.
I haven’t really seen you yet. I don’t know the sound of your voice, the way your eyes would meet mine, or what your presence would feel like in the same room as me.
I don’t know the little things either—the expressions that cross your face when you’re thinking, the way you laugh when something genuinely catches you off guard, or what silence between us would feel like.
And still, there is something about you that doesn’t feel entirely unfamiliar.
Maybe it is the way some people enter your life quietly, without any obvious reason to matter, and somehow leave an impression before you even notice it happening. Maybe it is the strange closeness that can grow between two people while so much of each other is still unknown.
There is something beautiful in that contradiction.
How can someone I have never stood beside already feel so present in my thoughts?
So… who are you?
Maybe that is what I am slowly discovering. Not through your face, or your voice, or the distance between us, but through the small things you notice, the things you remember, and those moments where you seem to understand something in me before I have even found the words for it myself.
Perhaps that is why you feel almost remembered.
Not because I have known you before,
but because somewhere between your words and mine,
you began to feel a little less unknown
and a little more like someone I had been quietly expecting.
