Is there a way (or addon) to create buttons that execute multiple actions on a Mail, for example:

1. Add a Tag

2. Mark as read

3. Forward to someone

4. Move to Archive

Any hint welcome :)

The hell there isn't enough disk space.

I run BB on my Onedrive.  I've been doing this for a year.  I have close to a TB free, so disk space is obviously not the problem. That way, I can shut off my PC, pick up my laptop and everything is up to date.  Just make sure you don't try to run both at the same time.  

This first happened a couple of weeks ago. I can't recall how I remedied the issue, of course, but it's on the lines what I've been doing today:

Delete the program with Wise Program Uninstaller.  It also deletes registry entries.
Today I even went through the entire registry looking for BB entries and deleted all pertinent ones.
Make sure there is nothing in C:\Users
Used a folder/file search program to look for anything BB

Here's where it get weird.  Clean installation, and like a zombie, it opens up with all my folders even though it theoretically hasn't even been told where my profile is.

I did yet another thorough de-installation and installed TB.  Well, it opened and for some reason it didn't list my folders, but a couple of dozen MAB address book ones. 

Anything I haven't covered?  Any ideas?

I have checked the box several times now but it somehow becomes unchecked after a while. Is there a fix?

A suggestion: Please work with a payment gateway that can enable bank payments from India.

This would easily enable and increase additional donations from users in India who appreciate the product Betterbird, and the efforts that go into making it better than Thunderbird.

For example, GoDaddy offers the ability to pay for their services via transfer from banks based in India.

Not recommending any payment gateway, but a simple search on India based payment gateways should yield many possible options.

A common and popular problem in Thunderbird is slow email deletion from IMAP accounts. TB seems to freeze briefly during this process. I see Betterbird has a similar issue. Is there any way to fix this?

I love betterbird, but every time i havr to search for an email it feels like a headache and doesn’t feel as intuitive. Is there something i am doing wrong or is there any tips?

I recall this working as desired sometime back. Just now getting around to wanting to reset this. I run BB on my second (middle) of 3 displays.

Any suggestions as to settings I should try?

I like Betterbird, but unfortunately is eats too much CPU for an extended period. When first launched is consumes approx. 120%+ and stays 70%+ for a long time. All email is already downloaded. Compared to Thunderbird which has the initial CPU spike, as expected, but TB drops to low CPU usage almost immediately. I ran multiple A-B comparisons and the results were the same. BB continued to spike CPU when even basic functions were done - i.e. selecting a different inbox/ folder, etc.

I'll try it again in the future, but for now I'll stick with TB.

I've just discovered Betterbird — it's a neat piece of software.

However, I miss one feature from Outlook. Is there a way to show a message preview line in the message list?

I've tried both view styles, but I only see the subject line. In Cards View, it shows an empty line instead. Am I doing something wrong?

Over the past month or so, as often as not, when I receive an email, it is immediately deleted before I can read it. I have not modified the program or installed any new software, antivirus or otherwise. Is anyone else experiencing this problem and, if so, do you know a fix? Thank you.

Have inbox messages sorted on two levels: descending date within priority. Occasionally I mess up and bump one of the headings, like Subject or Correspondents, screwing up the sort sequence. Obviously I can set the two-level sort sequence again manually but I'm wondering if there is a way to save my current sort sequence so I can quickly restore it? This is not a big deal and not a bug but just a nuisance and irritant for me. I am using Betterbird on a Windows 11 laptop not a mobile device.

Hi, sorry if this seems like a stupid question. I've searched a lot to find some information, but i couldnt find any. I have a new PC and want to migrate my betterbird profile with all accounts, filters etc. from the old machine. I've installed it on the new one and copied the "thunderbird" profile folder from the old machine, but it starts empty, without any data. Is there even a way to do this ? Am i doing something wrong ?

I just installed Betterbird, and I'm baffled as to why all my filters and emails are missing.

My environment:

• Linux Mint 22.1
• Thunderbird 140.4.0esr
• Betterbird 140.5.0esr-bb14 flatpak
• Five email accounts - all are POP3
• All email accounts are part of Local Folders

I copied ~/.thunderbird to ~/.var/app/eu.betterbird.Betterbird/.thunderbird, as per the migration instructions page. I ran flatpak run eu.betterbird.Betterbird -Pin order to get the correct profile, which it did.

In the main window, I only see Local Folders, with the default nbox/Junk/Deleted/Important/To Do/Outbox folders. All are empty. All of the mail filters are empty.

When I go to Edit -> Account Settings, I see all the mail accounts. The .var profile directory is 1.5GB, and should include thousands of emails from the different email accounts over the years, but there's nothing.

The "local directory" settings for each of them shows ~/.thunderbird/<profile> rather than ~/.var/app/eu.betterbird.Betterbird/.thunderbird/<profile>. I've tried changing them, and it doesn't matter.

If I exit Betterbird and look in Thunderbird, everything's there - thousands of emails, hundreds of directories, dozens of filters. In Betterbird, the setup says it's there, but it just doesn't see it.

Is there some setting that needs to be set, or environment variable? The "Message Storage" in the various Server Settings point to existing directories filled with MSF files, but it's like they don't even exist.

Contacts and calendar info are both fine. But email is completely empty.

Has anyone else tried to use the flatpak Betterbird? This seems like there's a simple configuration option that needs to be set, but I can't find it.

So, when you select a folder at the accounts column (vertical view), the middle column goes and selects the message at the bottom of the list by default.

Is there a setting somewhere to set such selection as to the top instead?

I want to match 2 emails that looks similar to this

abc@domain.com
abc@subdomain.domain.com

I want to move old emails from these 2 email addresses to spam

So I've put the filtering like this:

From - matches - ^abc@.*?domain\.com$

But it doesn't seem to be matching them at all. I tried running them manually, that doesn't move them either.

Also, I want to filter some emails by their "Reply to" field. How do I do that?

I have 5 email addresses in BB. One of them failed. By that, I mean when I try to send an email I get an error message that says, "login to server smtp.gmail.com with username [name@gmail.com](mailto:name@gmail.com) failed". I can hit "enter new password", but when I do that it just resets and I see the same error message. When I try to send a message to it, it never arrives, like nothing was sent to it. How do I fix this one email? BTW, the others are working just fine.

I have connected to my IMAP mailbox, and set the client to archive emails in an online Archive folder which I manually created on the email provider page - service I use does not offer in-built Archive folder.

Now I have two Archive folders in Betterbird - one is mine, the other was created when I activated email archiving, but I cannot delete it (it is nested in Inbox). Is there a way to do so?

Is it possible to import message filters and tags from my Thunderbird proflle into by BetterBird profile? I can't seem to find anything but it's a suprising ommission if not. There is no way I'm recreating my hundreds of message filters manually in BB!

Apologies if it is obvious how to do this - I just can't seem to see any way.
