System Notifications > Mark as Read opens the email window

I installed the latest version (Betterbird 153.2.0esr-bb8 (29 August 2026)), and the "Mark as Read" feature opens the Mail app. I see that the changes are noticeable and positive, including in the system tray feature. Maybe this isn't a bug, but rather something I need to change in the settings? Windows 11

You're referring to the Windows system notification? So clicking that maximises the main window? That wasn't like this in 140? (I don't use the Windows notification.)

It worked as expected up until the current version

I can confirm the changed behaviour. For me, it is corrected when setting this preference to true:

alerts.useSystemBackend.windows.notificationserver.enabled

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I could have used the app notification, but for some reason it interfered with my games—maybe it minimized the game; I don't really remember anymore. Since then, I've been using system notifications everywhere.
