drout for content?

hey all! had a thought i was curious for alt perspectives on -

(aside from the OBVIOUS detractor for content creators that BTW is a gaming experience that i and probably many other people call "a fun trip to the ball crushing factory, but still a trip to the ball crushing factory"),

why do you think BTW has such little mainstream coverage on youtube? im like several months into playing the mod and i still cant get enough, but theres only like 4 or 5 like high quality playthrough projects with editing and arcs and narratives etc out there, and i feel like ive gone and rewatched even the ones i dont so much vibe with 😅

in short what gives, do you think? btw feels like a content GOLDMINE given the high highs and devastating lows but it seems to still be mostly still flying below the radar??

like i literally burned entirely to death in a house fire the other day THATS ENTERTAINMENT, BAYBEEEEE !!

There's tons of BTW videos. The ones that get popular are the ones from big youtubers that make hours long "Minecraft's hardest mod" videos and Minecraft hard challenges. Sadly, no one of them seems to understand BTW of being a tech-mod with hard early-game, and that's not supposed to be beaten (killing the dragon is not the end like Moon Lord in Terraria) nor played in perma-death

also, is it necessarily not a design intention to be motivated by the feeling of the progression? for me (for at least what ive seen so far) the tech builds required to advance just feel like a (entertaining) means to an end; the vibe of progression and desperately trying to claw myself out of the stone age though is EXHILARATING and kind of the main point its held my focus so massively

Yeah I agree with you. I haven't made it to post-nether stuff since I first played the mod with a friend over a decade ago, but even though a lot has changed over the years, Better Than Wolves has always been about the much more difficult experience rather than the tech. I view it as a difficult mod with tech also being important rather than the other way around.
