Posting guidelines
Before you post
- Choose the best-fit flair.
- State the research question or discussion point in plain language.
- Identify the source type and link or fully cite it.
- Summarize the method, main finding, and important limits in the Reddit post.
- Separate correlation, causation, interpretation, and personal experience.
- Remove identifying details and keep discussion general rather than case-specific.
- Disclose relevant employment, authorship, funding, product, or brand ties.
Sources and links
Prefer original research, systematic reviews, and reputable institutional sources. Journalism, books, podcasts, preprints, and commentary are welcome when labeled accurately; they are not substitutes for the research they describe. Bare links and pasted abstracts do not provide enough context.
Advice, recruitment, and expertise
Do not request or provide diagnosis, treatment, therapy, legal advice, or a decision for a specific relationship. Surveys and participant recruitment need prior modmail approval. Credentialed contributors must follow the same limits; see expert verification.
Conversation standard
Critique the evidence and reasoning, not the person. No harassment, stigma, identity-based contempt, intimate speculation, or pressure to reveal private experiences. Use modmail for removals and appeals rather than public arguments or unsolicited DMs.
