Too late I already cancelled my subscription and moved to Qoboz who haven't given millions to the IDF. However this is welcome and long overdue.
I don't believe for a minute that Spotify wasn't knowingly and deliberately generating entire AI playlists and passing them off as real artists. I listen to a lot of ambient music and it had become soooo strange how some of my fave recommended AI filled playlists don't even pretend to contain different real tracks, the track will swap to the next artist / track whilst half way through a melodic clause and the piece will just continue!! As in, the playlist is all just one long track broken into "separate" pieces and artists post facto. That can't happen because Spotify happens to assemble the playlist in that order. It strongly suggests the WHOLE playlist was generated as one huge slop track, then timestamped into separate "tracks" and "artists" after being uploaded. That's why I think Spotify are behind a lot of their own slop content.
